Hello everyone. I'm a first-time poster, been lurking around the forum for a bit. Great to see some fellow serious Star Wars lovers.

I've been a Star Wars fan since as early as I can remember. I'm only old enough that the first films I saw at the cinema were the 1997 remastered ones, but before then I knew the original trilogy inside-out, thanks to my Star Wars obsessive uncle introducing me to it when I was probably about two or three :)

My uncle had a large collection of models he collected since the 80s, the majority is 90s models. Ten years ago he had it valued at £1000, but a couple of years later he gave it to me and my brother.

The thing is now we need to sell it to make space and raise a bit of money. It's a shame to be getting rid of such a big part of my childhood.

I wondered if anyone would be interested in it..... don't know if it's vintage enough.... or if anyone would please have any selling advice?

I read the forum rules about one-post wonders etc, but didn't know what the final ruling about it was. I'm sorry if i've done anything wrong, i'm just an honest seller trying to find some interest.

Thanks everyone :)

Aha well we had a higher buy it now price on original listing if you look closely.
And now wanted to do best offer on ebay too.

I'm not in a particular hurry to sell so just trying out different things on ebay...

I've got a load of later Star Wars stuff in the loft, can't be arsed to sell it though as it's not worth the effort, I'll just give it to the kids when they get older and they can rip it all open and play with it.

I see it didn't sell again.

You would be better off selling the Lego separately - I know it's a pain in the backside doing it that way, but the the Lego is much more desirable than the other stuff.

Aha ok. Might give that a try. Thank you.

I'm just trying different ways atm. I thought with make offer people would offer less than the asking price so might be a better idea. But nothing really happened.

What do you guys think is a reasonable price? I'd appreciate the expert opinions ;-) I would ideally like to get the ten-years-ago value really.

To be honest mate I think you will struggle to sell at that sort of price - individually bot might add up to that but bulk modern collections are notoriously difficult to shift (there are loads out there!)

You could try a £200-£300 start with a reserve but your are only likely to get dealers bidding and they won't want to pay more than 50% of market value

Ok. Thank you. A guy emailed me from gumtree who said he collects but also buys and moves stuff on a bit saying he'd pay me a price that was low but not toooo bad, so he said keep him in mind if I change my mind.

I've relisted it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281347134309

Lower buy it now this time. But if it doesn't sell I may probs drop a bit more. I'm rubbish at eBay-ing stuff. I don't know what i'm on about

Thanks for the advice everyone.

The Dealers won't pay more than £1 per modern figure whether it be carded or loose, its a similar story for the action fleet a few quid for each one and the same again for the modern Vehicles. I don't know about the Lego though. I can't see it going for anywhere near your valuations.

Sorry for late reply. Thanks for advice everyone, this time I was going to start much cheaper and have a reserve.
But when I tried it, eBay wanted to charge me £28!! I have no idea why they did that, so dropped the price a little bit, if not i might contact the guy who offered a price before...
