...if I wanted to get my hands on a carded figure - but wanted to spend the absolute minimum - what would the cheapest option be? I'm really not going to start a serious collection on any level - but I'd be interested in maybe having one figure in a packet. Purely from the aesthetic design side of things...

Hey Duncan. if i were you i would pick you fav character and buy him on a Rotj MOC. This is the cheapest line and ranages from as little as a tenner for a beater up to £150 for a mint example.

MOC?

Yes in some cases MOCs can cost no more than loose figures if you buy smartly. I've bought many MOCs for under a tenner before.

MOC?

MOC means Mint On Card mate, unopened in original packaging. :p

So where would be a good place to start looking for a ROTJ MOC ...I don't know....Biker Scout chap?

I started a cheap MOC run of ROTJ figures. I don't regret it but may have done it differently if I had it to do over again. I went for the cheapest I could find & some look really ****. IF you are only going for one- save your money & but a decent ESB ( even a SW card ) the bubble is less likely to be piss yellow.
You could still find one for $100.

$100? Man - that's way way way too much for me...
I'd be looking at maximum £20 - even then I'd be pushing it

Like I say - I'm not a collector (or even a fledgeling collector) - I'm just interested in the possibility of seeing what there is and the chance that I may find one good(ish) looking figure on a card - just because the packaging is so awesome. I'm interested in the design and the look - rather than the rarity...

If you're looking at a maximum of £20 for each carded figure you won't be able to find too many but there are a handful you can get. (fyi; forget about the Biker Scout, that will be way more).

There are several trilogo carded figures you can pick up for around £20 and under. Klaatu, Nikto, Prune Face to name 3. You'll mainly be looking at ROTJ figures. Same goes with ROTJ cards. I'd say there's probably 4-5 (maybe 6) you could pick up for under 20 tho you may have to put up with a couple of yellowing bubbles.
Check the sales threads on here. I'm sure Iain had a few beaters for sale.

Thanks chaps - I think aiming low is the way to go...
As long as it looks cool I'm happy. Not overly bothered about the overall quality - like I say - definitely not going to be a collector :)

Lol.......and so it begins...... :D

No no - I assure you - I'm just looking to see what there is - I dig good design - but I never go collector crazy (I don't think I have the completist gene) - so I've got a couple of Mighty Muggs, some Kubrick figures, and other bits and pieces knocking about - but I never go overboard...
