Fair point.

At least he links in his Ebay feedback* in his signature. Beats the usual "I have this 'mint' luke skywaller figure, I want £50,000"

* for what it's worth, we all know about Ebay feedback

does anyone remember what their first post was on here...i cant lol

i think everyone deserves a chance, but some people do take the piss and deserve a mouth full.

Emiel has a link to his first post where he does introduce himself :)

Just found one of mine...

'Cheers for the welcome Weasel. Was a star wars collector as a kid and sold all at a car boot sale in my eraly teens for a stupid amount. Started collecting again last year. I'm 20 figures away from a full collection of loose vintage with weapons. Have started collecting carded, have about 25. Want to get some graded soon, looking at UKgraders but not sure may go AFA.
Have a good collection of boxed vintage vehicles but boxes are pretty shabby. Have a good collection of carded Power Of The Force figures. I have a 3 and a half year old son who has been brainwashed to love star wars and transformers. He has a large collection of originals from both of these that he plays with. Just got a job lot of POTF loose figures through and I was really impressed. Some of them are great figures.
My aim over the coming months - complete my vintage loose and get some decent display cabinets (love the protech mirrored wall hanging one - any body got??) And maybe get some carded figures graded. Loving this site.'

and then...

'I'm amazed by the knowledge you guys have on variants etc. I thought I knew quite a lot but after finding this site and reading through some of the threads I've learnt loads. More time on my laptop..my wife will be happy. If i'm not careful could be grounds for divorce soon. She won't be getting her hands on my collection though!'

If only I knew back then

lol at the latest for sale post. On the day we do this poll we get two examples.

 you were born into this ,, jeez i have been at this nearly a year and i still dont have the collection or knowledge you had when your were a newbie,,, god i am in over my head :D

Personally, i'm totally against any form of abuse against people making such posts on this site. It is an open site and there is currently no rule that forbids it. If you don't like that they are selling, don't read it, don't buy it. They certainly haven't broken any forum rules.

Admittedly though, it is annoying when people do that because it chokes up the for sale section. I would be in favour of the idea that limits selling in that section until they have reached a certain post level.

Or at the very least a warning in the welcome email that states that any attempt at selling before reaching a certain level will result in the thread being deleted. It should then be dealt with by moderators and not responded to by other member of the forum.

If we want this forum to grow and develop, the amount of abuse that sometimes happens will be very off putting for potentially new and decent members.

:? still a bit of a noob,,, but yeah although letting loose on folks trying to just sell crap is fun,, but yeah we all change when what they have aint crap.

i remember my first posts,, in april.

"that guy , 3 eyes, cp 30 , come on man , are you seriuos

i mean is your best friend a star wars fan and you wanne build a collection like his

because i seriuosly doubt that your a true sw fan, specialy when you type **** like that"

I stayed around

I bet Jimmy's still in your nightmares though.

Don't worry, you're not the only one.

Just kidding Jimmy. 8)

i picked 8

not realy my idea but a good one none the less
got this from a " the warriors collecting forum "

have every new member post a minimum of 10 post in vintage chat before they can post on any of the for sale post

over at that forum they call it the proving ground

just a thought tho , actualy i dont think it has been that bad , and worst thing that happend from one of those one post wonders is that bullox has a funny way of making his point and thats always good for some entertainment

Hehe! Makes for funny reading! I've searched through and found my first posts- I didn't have a clue about URL tags..... Much to bollux annoyance!! Luckily I read a load of threads before I started posting, at the time there was a guy with a really **** fake 12 back Luke he found in his mums attic! He got such a pasting i was hesitant to post!
I agree with Gary, if we are too harsh on the newbies then we will end up with a dead site-'if jimmy wasnt so thick skinned he may not have bothered to come back. I wonder how many genuine people have been put off in similar circumstances?
Having said that there is a big difference between someone selling golf clubs and crap vintage figures!

haha , nice find emiel ,

cool to see that you was kinda looking out for a benelux bro back then
havent forgotten that

there is this skateboard forum where there used to be some guy's on
and i swear i have never seen such aggresive way of noobhazing/intiation going on anywhere
and that was actually my first forum where i logged on ever think it was 2003/2004
the main guy was banned or left cant remeber
