IG-88 Tri logo

I'm not sure i've seen a tri logo IG-88 before (still a bit of a noob to the hobby) but is his picture supposed to look this dodgy?? If so, how come?? What happened to the background?

I realise what a noob i must sound but there was no info in RS about this so i thought someone here could enlighten me.

There are quite a few Tri-logos with alternate cardbacks to what was normally found on Kenner cards, there are alternate backs within the Kenner range as well ( I intend on one day having all these alternate cardbacks ) here is some info : http://www.rebelscum.com/feature-trilogo.asp EDIT: some Kenner alternates-

some are very subtle differences ie. angle of R2, tie fighter 'missiles' .....

Thanks guys, I've seen many of the other variations (tho not all so cheers James) and there is info on some of them on RS (vintage figure archives) but just hadn't seen that IG-88 one. It seems strange to me that they clearly went to quite an effort to ruin a perfectly good picture. I guess only they know why they did that.
