i think i would have to do a young han meets cheewie lando jabba film .i do like the first 3 new films just cant see me warming to a new older luke han leai

I would go way back, some of the comics showing the origins of the Sith could be awesome on the big screen, almost Tolkien style. It would be good to see everything kept in order with the Expanded Universe, I can see Disney making up there own rules as they go along, there is so much quality material out there already to draw on before and after the original trilogy...

A Bounty Hunter based film could be awesome too, maybe restoring a bit of respect for Bossk after his week showing in the Clone Wars, wasn't there talk of a Fett film recently, would have been cool. Some of the Mandalorian wars would be very tempting.

I would love to seem more of Alderran, and the beginnings of the Rebellion...

So many choices...

What about Endor Chainsaw Massacre, I don't think it needs explaining

bossk showing in clone wars must have been week as i watched it last night and never noticed him ,which bits he in

In the animated series, struggling to remember which episode...

It was more the Trandoshans being shown in a bad light (getting a bit PC here  ) as a bunch of cowards that hunt unarmed Padawans, pretty sure Bossk was one of them...

I would love it if these were the focus of the next trilogy but I get the feeling that with Disney calling the shots, that may be a tad optimistic! JJ Abrams though...

I would use models not CGI for as much as possible in the film, as CGI looks crusty cock!

I think what is needed is a balance between the two, models and puppets and real sets are easier for the actors to interact with leading to more believable performances. Having said that some CGI is jaw dropping...

If I remember rightly the Utapah scenes in Ep3 used a scale model (the big hole where Obi Wan lands) and CGI, some of my favourite scenes from the prequels...

Absolutely agree 100%. Was having this conversation in the pub last week. Basically if they want them to capture people's imagination even close to the way the original trilogy did ALL ships, characters (human and alien) and buildings, environments etc MUST be made not CGI. High usage of CGI has never worked. It should be used sparingly, obviously a lot of space scenes benefit from a little CGI. Having said that i don't think Disney studios are going to have courage, artistry or wisdom to do this. If fear it'll be another lfat heartless CGI fest a la Episode I. :(
I watched 'Moon' recently which is a sublime example of how real sets and miniatures really bring a sci-fi world to life. It's a real throw back to sci-fi films of the golden age when they had no choice but to make films this way.

I would go with this...

Maybe a bit more than sparingly, though, just a little bit

Come on Pete, Star Wars rarely builds a strong case for CGI... I swear they get YTS boys in to do it on the cheap, that coupled with Lucas' ideas of what makes an improvement is alway's going to lead to poor execution.

Great pics by the way

For me the best expanded universe option would be to take on Legacy - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Legacy

that would bind the OT and the CW into the new films nicely

Totaly agree Pete, Models are so much better than CGI look at that crap Lucas pumped out and then look at what was being done 20 years earlier with models, I havent seen Moon and you have just reminded me been meaning to pick a copy up but now HMV is gone well the one near where i work has i keep forgetting! going to head off to Flea bay and see if i can pick myself a cheap copy up directly!

I hope they dont wreck the original story in any way..
Im still not overly positive to the whole Disney thing, but if I had to chose, Id want to see something like Boba Fetts story, or the other Bounty Hunters stories as they wont mess too much with the original story and theres been done alot of expanded universe stuff regarding them.. Oh, and Death Troopers could be fun in a way

Indeed - so many great choices, but I do like the sound of that one best

We have a winner!
