I'm off to Budapest for a few days around the Christmas and New Year period :D What are my chances (realistically) of finding any of these little beauties below?
http://theswca.com/images-speci/hungary/hungary.html

Has anyone from the boards been before and found any of these goofy looking figures either loose or carded?
I've read that the City is full of flea market type places with bric a brac galore 8)

Any advise on where to head would be greatly appreciated.

Snag :D

Hello mate.

Those figures would be a good find. I have never seen any of them come up for sale carded in all my time collecting but then I have never looked specifically for them but i imagine they are not easy to locate.

Good luck.

Cheers.

Grant. :D

I have a Leia carded - best bootleg I have

Also bid on 2 Wicket carded (well one was and the other was sort of carded :D) but lost them both.

Realistically you might be lucky to find a loose one but I wouldn't think about retiring off of a huge find! I travel into Hungary quite a bit and I have never seen any

You would get better results with a contact who spoke Hungarian but bear in mind that since these have commanded big prices from the Americans who buy them most have been found and made the trip to the states!

Good luck if you do go to any of the big markets/thrift shops and even if you don't find something to do with Star Wars enjoy your time in Hungary :)

Phantom, that is one cool item 8) 8) !!
With the Leia's......is there any particular rarity scale in terms of the blaster colour
Or are they all bloody hard to find :x !
It's surprising more loose don't show up, although It's like Grant said, I've never really looked for them before.

I always thought all boot legs looked like those (Polish?) figures that have absolutely no resemblance to the character they are meant to be. I didn't realise that some actually looked like their Kenner equivalents!

I'm not sure of the rarity of blaster colours, I just know these figures are hard to get.
In the last 6 years, I've only seen 4 on ebay. A Leia, 2 Wicket and I think a Han.

Oddly enough my leia is holding her blaster - no idea why.

I know for one you will be competing with Jo Y + a couple of others from RS, he is bootleg mad and prepared to pay the $ also!I suggest if you do find any you keep it to yourself until the deal is done so no one back doors you mate!
Good luck in the hunt for them there was quite a few listed on ebay not long back but they are long gone now I imagine!

I was there over the summer, didn't really get a chance to go shopping so to speak, and watch yourself at night too, as they have a big reputation against anti foriengers.

What I did see out there which was funny was they adapted a graphic of an X-Wing for Coke Zero billboards which was pretty mad.

well strictly speaking they could have been more anti-Welsh, as that made up the bulk of the party

that pick was taken out the back of a mini bus hurtling along at around 100mph to the airport, we all got out and kissed the ground when we arrived
