I think technically word of mouth while on another forum Imperial Outpost.co.uk

From a user on eBay. Ask if they had the R2D2 part from the Dagobah set. They recommended the forum and post on the most wanted section.

Mine was a Google search. Got back into collecting and wanted to speak to others about collecting 👍👍

In the very early days when it was brand new I used to put slips of paper with the link and a description in with toys I sold on eBay. But it mostly took off organically really, it was quite lucky.

Now there is a question! I've been on here that long I can't remember in all honesty, most likely a google search

Like wise, I think I have been on here for ehhh 20 years, give or take, in various guises. The old forum, the old old forum, the older old old forum that died cos of a dodgy data transfer (that right @edd_jedi ?). Not quite from the very start but not far off it.

**** knows how much time I've spent on here. Almost all of it is talking shite…..about football or anything non SW related lol.

My friend soeren told me about the forum, we were both on tig but the tone on the forum became very bad and a few collectors on tig thought they were better than other members. My friend Soeren learned about this forum and told me about it and we both left tig and joined this fantastic forum where the tone is always great and no one thinks they are better than other members (y)

It seems a very long time ago now, but it could only have been through Google. I was an occasional lurker for years before I finally joined properly, and I haven’t looked back since.

I joined quite a while ago now, initially finding via google search, joined to ask questions as was starting to collect vintage SW with my Son, we had done the usual of buying anything SW prior to that!
By joining this forum and asking questions I received great wide ranging advice that allowed me to build a little knowledge and find my feet, through this forum I have met online some great people and received advice, support kind gestures and know that there is always good advice whenever needed.
We have lost some great members over the years and found some great new members, BUT this forum is always one that is non judgemental, a safe environment, and a wealth of knowledge, where new and seasoned collectors alike feel comfortable in this Social media age of FB and the like it’s a breath of fresh air.
Great place and long may it continue.
