on a good point there will be some ****ing bargains with all reposessions

Ã'£90k for a house!  :(

****ing terraced houses in the local dodgey Council estate (the kind you lot see on the news, with the painted gable walls) START at Ã'£175K round here, and this isn't exactly Beverly ****ing Hills!

For Ã'£140K here I could get...............a Barn................MAYBE!

House prices here are stupid, even worse than the rest of the UK.

so when they drop you will be able to get a donkey and a few pigs as well 8)

House prices up here in north of scotland are no 2 bad the market has cooled down but they reckon. This housing boom going to last the next 10-15. Good new for me being a self employed bricklayer. Am getting to name my price for the job. The ammout of people getting morgages these days who cant afford them. Your going to see a lot of houses over the next few years getting repossed. Am going to be laughing if i ever sell my house bought it for 22k

I'd be very surprised if house prices dropped by that much everywhere as in most places theres a housing shortage and the Government want more built as quickly as possible. Being a planning consultant I sort out a lot of sites for big housing developments and there is still plenty of interest in land for development all over. I would think there will be a small price drop in some areas until interest rates drop back slightly. They went up pretty quickly which has put a lot of people off making moves but things may change if the rate drops back a percent.

I too watched that program and thought it was very interesting. House prices are crazy though, like you said Jabba you paid Ã'£32k and its now worth Ã'£140k  ; if interest rates start to creep up (as they appear to be) then there will be a lot of people in the shite. A friend of a friend has something like a Ã'£280k mortgage so just 0.5% rise and they are about Ã'£120 per month worse off

ouch :(
we have decided to put of moving for a while though our lasses uncle has a huge house with a bungalow and he wqants someone to stay in it while he ****s off round world for 2 years ,so it would be good if we could sell ours now live rent free for 2 years then get a bargain when we move out 8)

Prices won't go down by massive amounts, at least not in Lincolnshire as they've got to find big houses to store all of the Polish and Lithuanian workers !!

I paid Ã'£55,000 for mine 5 years ago and it's now valued at Ã'£115,000 but for a small 2 bed terraced house it is way overpriced. I think 6 or 7 years ago it would have sold for just under Ã'£40,000 :x
