Hey guys.

I think a few of you have looked at my blog which is just a silly look at any old toys or games or anything I like and woulda liked as a kid.

I wanna do a couple of 'countdowns', one for christmas and one for Halloween. Focusing on the Halloween one as its nearest, I want to look at spooky or monsterish kind of toys. So far I have were-bears, mighty max, monsters in my pocket, pocket shockers, a few NES games and some kenner Alien figures (latter of which I may disregard as its more sci-fi than spooky). Can anyone suggest anything pre 90s that I could look at that would be in this category and fairly affordable. I wanted to find some universal monsters toys but they seem pricey!

If anyone can suggest something or point me towards something affordable or spooky from the 70s and 80s I would appreciate it! Thanks!

What about outlaw Skuzz from Bravestarr !
I found my old figure and his creep mobile with crystal in it. Found him not that long ago and can put a up picture if you want. He was a pretty creepy figure at the time!

Ghost Castle the board game, and the Horror Top Trumps 8)

Oh yeah! I own ghost castle as well! Cheers mate!

I loved supernaturals as a kid as well. And I owned Skuzz and the good guy version! Awesome ideas fellas! :)

Horror top trumps are the bomb

Supernaturals were pretty good toy line but boglins were even better.

Remember those garbage pail kids cards. There wer a few nasty clients in those, I used to have hundreds of those cards swapping them at school.

What about Mad Balls, or whatever they were called. Basically a ball with a monster face as I remember them.

Midnight Pumpkin R/C by Tamiya

Computer games - Ghosts & Goblins, Castlevania

Comics - Scream!

There must be tons of these things - figures, cars, games, probably even chocolate and sweets.

Used to love the Fighting Fantasy books as a kid, but this one really gave me the heebie jeebies! http://gfbrobot.com/2013/02/06/video-game-review-fighting-fantasy-gamebook-house-of-hell/

Damn! Try picking those up now. Pricey

I actually brought the deck with me to CE Barry cos I knew you wanted to play them but I flaked out and didn't go to the pub like everyone else. What a *****!

There are two decks of the horror top trumps, this is a pretty good link to the various monsters and their inspiration/plagiarism for the pack I have.

Anyone ever own one of these? I never came across one of these before. I had to look twice before I realised what I was looking at.

Yes it certainly is an interesting item to own ! Not sure if its vintage or not I am sure they are still on on the production line somewhere because of demand

the game Nightmare where he turns into a zombie at the end lol, was a very niche game at the time on VHS.

I remember the vintage freddy dolls and jason voorhees masks too :)
