So after having a bit of a scare at the weekend (yes, I do have a heart) I'm in the market for a heart monitor.
I've looked at a few chest straps and watches but would like to see if there are any recommendations here?
Ideally under £100 if possible.

Cheers

Carl

My advice would be to speak to your doctor and see if they can recommend one.
I have also looked into buying one and have read that so many testers that are available to buy are unreliable.

This one is really good. Was advised to get one from a consultant:

Really sorry to hear this Carl, I hope you're ok.
It's probably not the same thing but I have a garmin vivoactive which measures heart rate as well as stress levels as well as being a gps tracker and loads of other great things for fitness - I love it!
It's just a watch so not intrusive but I think the cheaper models are still over £100. It's still worth considering though as it'll give you fitness targets as well as all the other benefits.

Bloody hell, were you looking at vintage Star Wars prices on Facebook when you had the scare?

Hope your ok and take it easy, hope it's nothing to bad. :|

Thanks mate, a watch would be ideal but the gadget Scott suggested above looks pretty comprehensive as well. I can go over a ton, I'd just prefer to keep it under if possible. Funny thing to be tight over, eh?

Thanks guys, great suggestions, I went for a Garmin Vivosport which seems to have a good level of accuracy and the convenience of being a watch.
Touch wood everything seems to have reverted back to normal as well.

Nice bit of kit, and I'm really pleased your back in rude health.
Keep it that way, what a difference a week makes!

Ha ha, I didn't think he was that much of a grumpy old git!!

Great to hear you're feeling better and you found a decent gadget to keep an eye on it.

Hey Carl, hope you're OK buddy!? Scary when something hits you out of the blue- helps you put things into perspective for sure. Hopefully the monitor will flag up anything before it becomes a problem. Take care mate.
