Heart scare..

Its sporadically, but when it happen it can happen for like 5 mintues random flutters then a big thud, when it forst happened i obviously got anxious and made it worse, it some times catchs me of guard at the gym and i go a bit dizzy, its not like palpitations where you feel your heart beating, you only feel the one jitter then a big compensation beat.

alcohol/hangover and sugar defo start them off with me

Sounds almost identical to mine mate,it's like a big thud in the chest and the pulse skips a beat when it happens!?

I thought it could be related to sugary food and caffeine,I dont tend to eat much sugar so it could be that then..

Browny this sounds like the side effect of hard drugs. No seriosuly I hope this was just a minor scare for you man.

Regards

Grant.

Maybe request a 24hr ecg mate just to ease your mind, its only an issue if you have something like 1000 in an hour lol, its still makes me go Oo when it happens but im at the gym 3-4 times a week and im ok.

defo stay away from high volumes of stimulants, coffee, redbull alcohol, dehydration.

I have had a 24hr ecg last week mate,am waiting for the results,no news is good news I guess?

Cheers for helping to put me at ease a bit,**** having 1000 per hour!

Thanks to all who have posted up,feeling the love for sure!

Sorry to hear about this browny, glad you seem to be back on top of things...

Unfortunately most of us on here are getting to the age now when things go wrong, we are probably overweight, have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high sugar levels, high stress levels, do little exercise and for me footy injuries now last months instead of weeks etc etc

I have been trying to change my diet recently but its so hard, given up smoking (except saturday night  ) and try to exercise more. My dad has had stents fitted recently and my grandad suffered with angina before he passed, both are warning signs.

Us old farts have got to look after ourselves or face the consequences...

Good luck with your situation Browny :D

Chubb - thanks mate,I suffer from football aches and pains that last for weeks now and leg cramps after playing that last into the nights sleep!

My gramps had angina as well before he passed away, strong chance of me and my brother having it later in life...

I need to focus on eating better and getting back to full health like yourself..

Thanks mate

Regular exercise and sensible diet.
I used to do a few hundred sit ups in the morning, only took a few minutes and it does help.
