i am wanting to send a few things off to the guys at UKG including 3 carded A-team figures, masters of the Universe boxed panthor, 8 vintages carded POTF figures, loose vinyl jawa plus few other things. How do i go about it, do i need to pay for the return postage when i fill the form in, Do they pay for the return postage? or will they email me to pay the postage when they know wot the cost will be. I have got prices for the iyems but they are slow to answer emails.

Just post your stuff to them via special delivery, you then have to pay return postage costs and specify what level of postage you want ie special/recorded/courier. you will also have to pay the paypal charges...or i had to anyway.

i havnt filled in a form for ages but they prefer you to do it that way.

Yes fill the form out online and submit it.

Send your stuff in (i'd recommend special delivery).

When graded steve will email your total, this can take 3-4 weeks.

The final charge will include costs for return postage via which ever method you request on the submissions form, plus you have to cover the paypal fee.
They have only ever charged me exact postage, but having to cover the paypal fee's is a bummer :?

UKG are good, a bit slow but its just 2 guys so you've gotta be patient lol.
The quality of the cases are good, on par if not better than AFA.

I negotiated a deal some time back and they gave a slight discount.
That was at a time when they were trying to drum up business though, so may not be as easy to do now.

They are good guys so I'm sure you could get a discount.

Look forward to seeing your results mate.

I've only ever spoken to steve, i think he deals with the majority of the emails.

I've never asked for a discount, maybe i should lol.

I've only ever dealt with Steve but he's always open to a deal if you ask nicely!

Figures are cased better than AFA IMO, but they havent got the cases right on mini-rigs. Where as an AFA graded mini-rig is a fairly snug fit (thus it displays well without taking up much more room than a loose 1) the UKG mini-rigs are in a larger case which takes up more room. Maybe this isn't important to you but space is an issue at my house B)

Not personally (not brave enough to post my stuff to the States!), but I know a good few of the guys on here have. No doubt someone will chine in and let you know the details.

i sent stuff to afa and ukg.

dont really cost too much more to send to afa and it doesnt take too much longer to get items back either,

i wonder if mark even works at ukg as it seems to be steve steve steve

great service though at ukg and steves a nice guy though apart from they take a few days even once your items graded to send it back which is a big no no in my book

there's probably more staff at AFA though, so you have to expect a slightly longer service - something you can surely put up with knowing that your items are having to be shipped 1000's of miles

think they need their own boxes and bubble though at UKG instead of always using seconds lol

heres far too many stickies in the vintage forum when you have to scroll down the page to see a new post

yeh I think that's a bonus UKG doing their own cases

I may get their cases - not interested in getting mine graded yet though

Has anyone here bought some of their empty cases? I have a few AFA graded carded figs, but would like to have the rest of my carded in matching cases (not bothered about getting them graded). My biggest concern is that they are a close match to the AFA ones so they look nice and neat when displayed. If anyone has an example of each I'd be very grateful for a comparison pic or brief description of difference in size/appearance.

Cheers!
