Hammerhead on Ebay

I saw that go this morning.

Don't know a lot about MOC's but presume the Hammerhead is pretty rare as the rest of his items went for between £30-£50 with the exception of the Tri Boussh

Its a tri logo hybrid. (Jedi front with tri logo back)
Only way to get a Hammerhead on a tri logo

I wouldnt have given them £50 for it!

This seller was discussed a bit on the forums, it still seems dodgy to me but I hope the buyer gets their items.

Original seller is a girl selling it as a lot, ends the listing, another ID appears selling the same items with the same pictures but is a new user and is the ex boyfriend of the original seller. Then to make matters worse he writes in a few listings that the paypal address linked to his new ID is wrong so you need to pay the money elsewhere.. lol

It obviously didn't put anyone off bidding and that's a stonking price, in 2008-2009 these were going for $1000-1300 in mint ungraded condition.

I wouldn't have had the balls to bid tbh, not for that kind of money, I would rather pay a reputable seller on a forum less money for a lesser conditioned one and know that it will turn up rather than a box of dog ****

just checked Stephane book, he gives hammerhead a 5 for rarity, so i guess its behind Madine, Jawa and Fett in rarity (for tri logo)?

Honestly I don't think you can really ever say any Trilogo figure is truly rare (apart from low produced variants but for the majority of figures a more common release is available) and you can definitely get a hybrid hammerhead if you wanted one, it's really just about having the money, if you got it you can get anything you want, if a figure is believed to be rare up goes the price, the more collectors that get interested the more competition there is.

I think popularity and the desire to complete something drives prices up, check out these past sales from Kevin's old blog (which I wish he still updated)

As low as $600 and a high of $1000 2-3 years ago, like I said - this one went amazingly high for a figure that is out there.

The CCP Is supposed to be the hardest to find Hybrid, there was one graded on the bay for under 1K gbp recently, it probably sold but goes to show that things never really tally up in terms of value + rarity in the Vintage market.

It's ok boys- he has ANOTHER ONE!

Looks like the same figure to me, which- if he HAS actually got multiples of the same figure he could have at least took different pictures, the only difference between these pics are that the figure has slightly moved but his head is still facing the same way (to me that says its the same one as the one he just sold)

No feedback left or landed yet - buyer beware ;)

I took a punt at some of his auctions but I was outbid for all of them, lucky escape? Some of them went too high seeing that it would be a big leap of faith.

Oddly the same buyer who won this sellers first Hammerhead also won the SECOND Hammerhead which went for even more money!

He was also the same guy who won that awesome ree yees for about 200 quid more than it was worth

You know the saying about a fool and his money...

This guy's sales are going through the roof. A lot of average items to with near "brown" bubbles. People lapping them up!
His Hammerheads alone (bloody ugly things) sold for a total of £2850!
His total sales from this lot is so far £6405 (including the items he currently has running which are likely to increase the total significantly).
Bare in mind that this fella had no idea that the stuff was worth anything when he "acquired" the lot. When he was going to sell it as a lot and it reached 1200 he exclaimed "i can't believe how high it has got. It's going MAD!"

I want the DSD but feel i may be priced out. Any more than about 200 and i'll be saying "see ya later"...

Yeah you aren't wrong Pete about a fool and his money - I am shocked I really am, **** Ed sold off his Hammerhead Hybrid on here a few years back for 75 quid! I just can't understand why people skint themselves on these things when with a bit of patience they come up!

BTW- I am not in on the DSD so at least there will be no competition from me Pete, nice figure and its still cheap but yep it will sky rocket and I haven't got the coin this time around to compete, I will wait it out for a cheaper one in the future.

I want to see what his Nunb and IG88 do as well..

Gotta laugh at this though- that bloke who won the hammerheads and that 200+ Ree Yees probably saw this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-STAR-WARS-Ree-Yees-Tri-Logo-FIGURE-NEW-/120721912472?pt=UK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionFigures_JN&hash=item1c1b963298#ht_500wt_898 And thought "**** me I could have saved myself 200 quid" LOL

Yeah that ReeYees was a very nice one too. Still over-priced if you ask me but closer to it's worth than 200.

Fyi; you can read my 2 cents and a bit of back story to this lot here - http://www.starwarscollectorscantina.com/t1165-that-sw-lot-update

I was rooting for you Pete I really was but check out the highest bidder on the DSD now :(

It's Mr "I pay 250 quid for a Ree Yees" Man!

Good luck beating that top bid :(

Oh Jesus. That idiot's probably put a thousand quid on the bloody thing.
I've never understood that. I always need to get something for a good price or more often than not, less than it's worth. Can't live with owning all this stuff unless i know i'll make my money back (at least!). I have let many items go that i really wanted because the price, in my mind, was slightly more than it's worth. I can understand if it's a one of a kind item but a ReeYees!?!!

Well I would say if you had a price in mind - still bid, at the very least you will bump his cost up a bit

Sent you a PM :)

I bit 180 on Nein Nunb and 200 on DSD... no joy. When i want a piece it seems every other ****er does too.

Crikey you can have my AFA 80 Nunb for 180 quid if you want

****ing hell, I hope this isn't the start of things to come, some prices lately have been mental on ebay !

Yeah i kind of hoped it wouldn't be the winning bid as i placed it. It was a bit of a 'tilt' bid. Another one will come up i'm sure. It was a very nice one with a lipped bubble tho which is why i got a little keen.

I had this discussion with a collector recently who, when i valued the Nien Nunb at 120-150 he said that was WAY over. He was going buy the prices he used to pay 4-5 years ago. Nien Nunbs are just not as easy to find any more and the last 2 i've seen have gone for 140 and this one at 190. When one comes up everyone's been waiting 6-8 months for one and so bidding goes mad (even i went a bit loopy ). Tri Yaks are WAY more common with 2 or 3 always around but often way over priced.

I think the variant bubble helped nunbs cause on this one but yeah its true, if people wait about for one they will just stick good money on it to secure it to stop waiting.

I got mine on ebay for $90 BIN, guy had relisted it 2-3 times each time dropping $25-50 8)
