I don't like boxing. If violence is your thing, why pay to watch a fight between two guys in a boxing ring when you can go and stand in any town centre on a Fri/Sat night and watch 27 guys besting the shite out of each other with whatever comes to hand.

E.T is great tho the last act doesn't hold up as well when watched as an adult. And the first Rocky is a fantastic movie. Deservedly beat Taxi Driver (another awesome movie), to best picture oscar in 77. 8)

But Rocky being an awesome movie has nothing to do with liking or not liking boxing. Because it's a movie.
I hate war but i love Platoon and Apocalypse Now.
I'm not much of a supporter of organised crime but i love The Godfather and Goodfellas.

It's really not. I couldn't think of anything further away from a martial arts film than Rocky!
I'm a very very fussy watcher and i rate Rocky highly. It's a classic.

Have to agree with Pete, rocky is a brilliant film, one of my favourites. Bit more than just boxing.
I don't watch or understand American football but still loved Friday night lights and any given Sunday.

Seriously you don't know what you're missing, and ET, well first film I cried and still gets me now even though I've watched it 30 odd times.
