Hi guys,

What am I missing about this finished auction ... why such a high price for a weequay 65 back?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-AFA-85-ROTJ-WEEQUAY-65-BACK-A-VINTAGE-MOC-JUST-GRADED-/231603277879?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35eca19037

Even if it is graded, $637 ... really?

Cheers, Jared.

Does seem high but people will pay more if it's a high grade, clear bubble and un punched I guess. A lot of Jedi bubbles are yellow this one appears pretty clear.

It's the clear bubble. iv never seen a clear bubble 65back Weequay before until this was posted.

Is there no danger this will yellow over time?

Whilst on the yellow thing: is there some science behind which bubbles yellow and under what conditions? I understand it affects Kenner mostly, but even then, it's some figures more than others, or so it seems. Certainly the later figures were worst affected, POTF more than the rest, but is there a comprehensive guide on this anywhere?

Ok, thanks for the opinions. I guess everyone has their own collecting goals and budgets!

It's just a matter of time before it turns yellow IMHO. The science is just **** plastic used for bubbles. Then potentially throw into the mix Sunlight, warmth, cold and time etc. somewhere in there is the answer. 8)

Plastic is made from organic compounds, it WILL slowly degrade over time. Nothing will stop the onward march of the yellow, brittle bubble.

Love the science info on stuff like this I guess they have all been degrading since they were produced, which in many ways is another negative thing about grading. This sold for more than three times current market value in my opinion, for all the reasons as already mentioned plus it's also a debut card/figure.
