Unless you really trust the seller...not a wise option to gift pay......you may be ****ed.
i think this too...still it wasnt alot i very rarely use RS. i thought with the member being on there since 2011 and having feedback it seemed ok to pay gift...it may still come ive heard stories of things taking 2 months via usps anyways

Any tracking info? they're usually a lot better then us for offering a fully tracked service in the states.

If you need a useful tracking site, I use this as it's tracks everything (well almost!!)

This kind of situation is always difficult. Do I pay gift or not? I've seen this topic come up so so much over the last year. I just did a deal on here over the last few weeks and I paid gift. I used the same philosophy that you have used about the Sellers feedback and length of membership. But of course I had the utmost confidence that him being a stand up member of swfuk, I had nothing to worry about :D If I was to get shafted in the end... then that's my fault and I'm pretty aware of that.

I've sent an item to Germany in the spring and it took over a month :x , and during that month I had posted something else to Singapore that had arrived  Just today, someone I traded with in the UK, sent me a note with some concern about a current track on the parcel that I sent, just under 2 weeks ago. I've been a buyer, seller and trader is my point and I've seen delays to Europe and the UK.

Some people may call me anal, but I prefer to call it being meticulous and attentive to detail. I take photos of item wrapped up, boxed up, outside of box and even the printed shipping label (showing their name and mine and a tracking number) which is paid for. I make every attempt to show the person I deal with that if the item that is traded or sold is lost, it was not due to me scamming anyone. I am not saying a dishonest POS scammer can't do what I stated but it seems a little much, with the photos and printing out a paid for parcel label, when their end goal was to deprive? But who knows?

I still have hope for you that it's delayed shipping, sucks waiting yes, and hopefully there will be no getting the stinky end of the stick

At the very least they should have a customs number to prove postage but it wont track it fully to the UK, only out of the US and then the trail ends. Full tracking on a standard service is only available to Canada with a customs number as far as I'm aware.

Hope it turns up though :)

Still no show of parcel. Seller said he would offer 50% partial refund on the 3/10/14. 10 days later no reply from seller no partial refund..****.....ahwell only £14 out of pocket.

This is probably the 17th or 18th time i've posted this this year. Ditto last year….
Don't pay by gift payment to anyone you don't know. Take the tiny percentage hit for peace of mind.

If you pay by Credit Card as Gift you as the buyer will be charged a small fee by Paypal. You have to accept this fee before the seller is given the money. If you pay by any other means you don't pay a fee but you are not covered.

If you weren't charged the fee then you can't claim a chargeback. Basically the fee covers you the buyer if anything goes wrong. You would notify your Credit Card Company who will refund you the money and they claim off Paypal to get their money back.

For me it's worth the extra piece of mind paying by Credit Card.

you can issue a chargeback from a credit card and in some cases any card with VISA on it like visa debit BUT you have to prove the the money was sent without your authorization, which in this case would be fraudulent on your part as you did mean to send it but did not want to pay fees.

Always pay via goods and cover the 4% and use a CREDIT CARD as they are jointly liable for any goods purchase if it doesnt turn up, they will recover the funds from paypal for you.
