Well, it's finally been confirmed as May 6th.
It could well be one of the most interesting/closest elections in a long time.
I can actually see whoever wins having a very small majority, if any. Be interesting to see if that means we get a few of the major parties working together or a useless coalition government.
A few months ago I would have said the Tory's would have walked this election, but with Cameron seemingly allergic to making any definite policy statements (maybe he has been saving them for the election campaign) auld Gordgy has managed to claw back a bit of ground. Quite impressive really, considering that Labour have had three terms on the bounce, Gordon isn't the most charismatic person alive, and the economy is so fooked.
Saying that I have been pretty impressed by what I've heard coming from the Liberal Democrats recently. Both Nick Clegg (their leader) and Vince Cable (their Treasury/shadow Chancellor person) have come across pretty well. I'm as far from a Liberal as you can get, but they seem to be the only main party who are actually talking sense about the state of the economy and what we are going to have to do to sort it out. Will that win them any more votes though, or will people (as they normally do) go for the sugar coated unrealistic promises, that are never kept?
Actually, will anyone vote given the continued expenses scandal and the incredible degree of voter apathy in this country!? (Spare a thought for those of us in NI, who get a selection of bigotted insular idiots to choose from, both sides as bad as the other.)
Just a heads up, in light of how previous threads on politics have gone, please keep any comments as general as possible and remember that not everyone on here necessarily agrees with your own political opinions.
