Just like last year when the defending champion, the Stormtrooper, fell in the group stage, this year defending champion, Boba Fett, does the same thing. He was drawn into a very tough group but the Jawa pips him to the spot in the second round. The Jawa has always been a fancied figure for this competition but in previous years he fell in the 2nd Round in 2014, whilst in 2015 he was destroyed by Boba Fett 18-7 in the 3rd Round. Both Luke Skywalker Stormie and Warok fail to get out the group stage once again.

Power Droid and Admiral Ackbar were so close for so long before Power Droid opened up a gap and managed to keep hold of it. Power Droid has failed in clearing the group stages in the first two years so he enters the unknown going into the second round and will be looking for a kind draw. It's the third year running that Ackbar has just missed out on getting out of the group stage whilst Imperial Dignitary has finished comfortably bottom of his group every year since the competition begun.

1. 47 points. Emperor's Royal Guard. QUALIFIED
2. 44 points. R2-D2 (Original Release)
3. 24 points. R2-D2 with Sensorscope
4. 17 points. Walrus Man



Real tough group this one with a good argument for any of them to come through. ERG comes through but only just at the expense of the solid dome R2. ERG is another figure who has underperformed over previous competitions, he went out in the 2nd Round in 2014 and then fell at the same stage in 2015 as he was closely beaten by the TIE Pilot. It is the first time we have seen Solid Dome R2 go out at the group stages, he got eliminated in the 3rd round last year as he narrowly missed out on a Quarter Final place to Luke X-Wing.

Amazingly close group which saw last years Quarter Finalist Chewbacca get eliminated. As for the Tusken Raider, he'll be happy to be through to the second round after failing in the group stages last year as he lost out to Yoda, he did however cleat the group stages in 2014 only to be beaten in the second round to eventual runner up Hoth Stormtrooper. R5-D4 will be the most disappointed to go out first round however after being last years unlikely semi finalist.

Chuffed for the PD but gutted for the likes of Chewie, R5 and Luke Stormtrooper.

As for Yak Face, I feel for him. He's scored about as highly as he did for me as a kid. I wonder how much of it is backlash for his daft price? He's the Justin Bieber of the VSW world: most hate the bastard but he's worth a ton of cash.
