I just need to vent on a cheeky twat trying to purchase some non-SW stuff from me on eBay.

So I've a couple of Doctor Who posters for sale on eBay; they're brand new mint condition. When I listed them I looked to see if there were any on already to help gauge a price. I see 1 other guy selling them at over double what I intend to ask for them - and he's sold some! - so I just list them at the price I'd intended.

Nothing happens for a couple of weeks - nobody bids. Then I get a message from someone asking how much I'll discount if he buys two. First reaction is to knock a couple of quid off, but then I think 'Well, they're a pretty good price already. I wonder if that other guy still has his for sale so I can point out how much more they're being sold for elsewhere". No doubt the smart ones amongst you will see where I'm going already...!

So I check the other auctions and they're still for sale, but then I notice that the guy selling them is the same guy trying to buy mine from me! So, he gets a message back saying "Sorry, mine are the cheapest on eBay and someone else is selling them at over twice what I'm selling them for, so no discount".

Whilst I have a problem with him buying them from me and flipping them, that's not what's annoyed me. What has annoyed me is the cheeky twat has tried to get a discount as well!!! If he hadn't have been so greedy as to ask for a discount he'd have got them on BiN and I'd have been none the wiser.

Oh, and to prevent him buying them at all I've also blocked him. Greedy little ****!

Yes you should have inflated the price.

My father in law, sadly no longer with us, used to get cornered into doing car boots, if anyone was cheeky with him or he disliked their attitude and asked what he would take for something, that was priced up, he'd double the price :lol: :lol:

thats what 80% of ebay is about, profit, its not really an auction site for bargains anymore, its a resale business site.
