Maybe a silly question but let me get this straight?!
I am trying to complete a set of the first 12 all loose
And graded. Now do you go and buy a eg: chewy and
That's that or do you look for one that came from an actual
12 back card etc ?
If that makes sense, how would you tell they came from a 12 bk card

Hi Jedi, There are individual tells to a fgures "age" on some of the first 12, The best place to start out is looking at Coo information and paint schemes. then weapon variants, A good place to start is Chewie Luke Leia and R2 its pretty easy as they are the same types as came in the Early bird Sets. the others are more difficult.
The following site has most of the 12 Back and EB variants listed
http://www.highasakoit.co.uk/starwars/starwars.php

I think most people don't generally worry about the COO markings when they buy a loose set of the first 12, I would imagine it's more to do with having the figures together than what stamps are on the back.

However, if you are seriously worried about having them with early date stamps you may have your work cut out for you. For example Shawn just sold some open 12 backs with mint figures ( http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1096249/ ) and they all had Hong Kong COO's (2 lines..think you can find 3 line COO's too..) but you can also find 12 backs that were made in Taiwan..

In all honesty it sounds like a headache as not only did different factories in different locations produce 12 backs at the same time you also have them producing figures for lengthy periods with the same COO markings so you may have the correct COO but it might have actually come off of an ESB card.

Thank you guys that helps and answers all
Of my questions :)
basically I just wanted to get the first 12 loose figures
In nice condition. it seems like to much of a headache to
Identify each one back to a 12 back rather than a rotj card so
Just the 12 together will suit me fine.
Just asking as to what normally happens when people
Collect this little lot

Thanks

Good evening all, Newbie member and wanted to say hello to all, I am not a huge collector in fact i sold most of my items quite a while back, Im currently looking for a good AFA graded set of the original 12!
All the best
James
That was my first post on this board a little over a year ago at the time I just wanted the first issue first 12 loose AFA graded (not sure why AFA) but after completing 12 I went to 21 now I'm onto 12 backs so be careful those first 12 are a slippery slope ;)

Haha yes once the first 12 are brought it
May turn into the first 21 ! I will have to put a pic
On here when complete

Its a great run Jedi can't wait to see it complete. My collecting interest is the first 12 figures, I think they are the best out of the entire line.

.

And those were all on ebay.com last week with only a few now left. Someone made a profit, which is a bit of a shame as it meant they weren't really that interested in owning a set.

As for the 2 line coo's the problem I have is finding out what order all the different coo's were released. There are variations on the 2 line coo's for each figure and I can never tell if they coo's in the guides out there are in order off release. This has probably always been a problem as without opening 12 back A cards to see the coo's you're relying on someone having their childhood cardbacks and figures still to match them up. It's a challenge but it's something i think is worth looking into.

Someone out there must know (with pictures to show)?

I missed that the buyer ended up reselling them. I don't mind in that I knew I could have gotten more out of them, but the fact that they actually said they wanted a nice 12 set for their collection makes me a little miffed in seeing that he in turn resealed them and sold them off a week later. I made a profit myself on them, but I certainly would have liked to see them go to a good home instead of becoming reseals. I personally don't agree with buying on the forums for flipping material, but I'm probably in the minority. Oh well.

The pics are now working again on my FS post so you can make out the COOs on the ones without capes. I had a power outage yesterday, so my site was offline for a few hours.

I thought I'd mention it as I also don't agree with forum members buying items to just trade on straight away, I'm guessing you would have gone to ebay in the first place if you just wanted to let them go to anyone. I didn't realise that he resealed them as well, I've got to say he didn't do a great job of it so it's a bit of a shame all round.

Anyway, what's done is done and at least you turned a profit yourself. I was wondering where your website is with the pictures of the coo's? I'll take a quick look in the links section but if it's not there please post up the link.

Found it! :D

The pics are on the original sale post that Joe linked, but you can also find them here.

Thanks for the link to your site, I didn't realise you had a sales section, very nice. :)

Shame that

Get what your saying, understand buying and trading/ swapping on here with the guys then everyone wins, but don't agree with profiteering

Like I say shame

Love the pics, gorgeous first 12

Once I finish ROTJ loose run. My next focus, over a period will be nice loose first 12 with a loose mail away stand...think that looks a cool display

New to the forum so to you guys it won't seem big but to me it's a goal
