Ok so this ? May be dumb lol but I'm trying to complete a full run of figures, starting with "The 1st 12". So what I need to know is what are the coos to those figs? Like for example Princess Leia has a HK & a Taiwan which one is considered a 1st twelve fig? So if its HK then Taiwan is a variant?

I'm just trying to get a full original set together to display. Then have a separate display for variations and coos.

Thanks all help is appreciated.

Someone was asking this a little while ago in here, they wanted people with original first twelves from the first wave release to confirm COO's and variants etc....

Not sure how much success they had or if there was already a guide to this available. A search on SWFUK might find the thread.

Good luck though June :D

hi June i always presumed the first 12 issue were hk coo, and as the line became more popular, the production grew to other countries.

i stand corrected of any one else can chime in!

It was me, although it was attached to another thread about people who owned Star Wars figures when the films were first released.

http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13395&hilit=collected+star+wars+the+first+time+around&start=0

I've been trying to figure out what the first 12 and 20 back coo's were from Palitoy cards as well as the issue of weapon they had with them. I remember there being a few figures that people had from their childhood they put up on the thread but there were very few people out there, especially from when Star Wars (ANH) was released.

The Hong Kong hunch sounds right to me with the G.M.F.G.I mark but as there are so many different ways these markings are printed per character (on the coo guides out there), I think this is the Question that June is hoping to get answered, as I am but for Palitoy. Of course the Palitoy figures were made in the U.S. originally and sent to the U.K. so there's not going to be a special, unique coo on the first waves released over here but I still figure that the first ones to hit U.K. shores would be from the same mould.

Let's hope there's someone out there with some new knowledge on this but I'm sure I read a thread on another forum that was about a similar thing and nobody got to the bottom of it.

Without looking for photographic proof I'm sure I've seen 12 backs with Taiwan figures that can be identified without opening the bubbles ie. Taiwan Leia has a 'unique' face, Luke 'unique' pants colour.
I have vague recollections of tigerham buying an R2 that you could see Taiwan on the figure.

My childhood R2, bought on a Clipper 12 back, is made in Taiwan.
