First 12 collecting

I'm on a very slow period in collecting, due to crappy job changes etc lack of funds etc..anyway less of that as its depressing.


I am collecting tri logo cards, ...have about 6 :roll:
POTF last 17 loose with coins have 3 :roll:
Resealed mocs..have a few,
and a couple of nice mocs I have won on comps on this wonderful forum

Now I want to start first 12 best I can afford...but I'm going to get them one at a time, im not too bothered about them being mint, just good enough for display
I have 2 which are good condition

Once I've done the first 12 I will look for the original loose mail away stand...but again that seems to be going for daft money now!

so I want to confirm, i know it sounds dumb, but i want to be sure what im doing, and thought the thread ( knowing how helpful all you guys are) will be good reference for anyone starting out....

so the below are the first 12

R2D2 solid dome
Chewbacca
LFB 3 line HK
Princess Leia Organa
Ben....should he be white or grey...I thought either
Darth
Han...small or large head?...black/blue blaster?
C3PO ....solid limbs
Stormtrooper
DSC
Jawa
Sandperson


I know leia is becoming more expensive, and also to buy each figure complete, as the accessories can be as much or even more than the figure in some cases

So any advice would be welcomed, I'm sure I will be sourcing the figures through the forum, and I will be going slow as always,

I think I have a nice stormie you can have. I got a better one recently.
Ben - white or grey. Grey is easiest to get.
Han - large head is easy to get. All mine have the blue/black blaster.
Luke Farmboy and Leia will be the priciest.

I've had him forever....picke d him up at a car boot about 10 years ago with a few bits that have since disappeared for 25 p each!

He is pretty much minty decals in lovely condition and a. Shiny dome.....

I posted about him ages ago with pics, underneath he has the curved plastic and the hole for the saber, Uncle Tod confirmed he was pop up R2.... Unfortunately he doesn't have his saber though.

Yes..he is the one I picked up for £6 from a local antiques place that occasionally have figs...his saber was intact as well but there was an issue where my daughter in law and wife colluded for my 50 th birthday and "borrowed" the figure to put on top of the cake as a surprise :? :shock: :shock: :shock: he arrived back tip less :? He's a 3 line HK ...I think EB

I have another but he's a beater I've had forever, strange coloured hair.

Nice one. I can sort you out Han, R2-D2, Stormtrooper, Leia, and Tusken Raider if you're happy with incomplete and play-worn but displayable, no minters but will keep you going until you can upgrade

Still very slow as always but here's the update:


Have a pin head Han now ( thanks Andy , Chaz B for sourcing him for me, star man )
but need smuggler blaster for him.

So now need :

Want to display them but don't need to be minty mint ( small tears under arms on capes etc ok by me ) as fund age is limited

complete Leia
Solid top R2
Complete Stormy
Complete Tusken
Blaster for DSC
Cape and blaster for Jawa

Getting nearer now, thanks to Iain have now added Leia and R2

Leia missing blaster, han missing blaster, Jawa in need of Cape and blaster then done.

The tusken however is the hollow tubes with an original Cape and G Stick so may look to trade him for a complete tusken and anything else I can get what do we think? Or keep the hollow tube?

Once I have the missing components, I will then take another 2 years to get the mail away first 12 stand :lol:

Small potatoes in the scheme of things and in relation to the amazing collections that are showcased, but for me I'm a very happy bunny, :wink: and feel like I've achieved a large part of a goal.
Been staring at them for a while now :lol:
