figures for sale

Hello,

Ok firstly I am glad you sold the figures and got a good price for them, life can be tough and it's always good to have a few quid in your pocket.

Ok now down to the nitty gritty, I've been chewing on your last post over the last hours and I just wanted to raise a few things simply because I feel that your post is not being totally honest to the forum members and those looking in. On your very first post you wrote ' if the price is right' so what was the right price in your mind? Because let's face it you wrote ' you had no idea £50 was a ridiculous offer' so why didn't you snap it up? Ofcourse it was a silly offer and the offer should have atleast been sent via a pm then for all viewers to see as it does look asthough someone is taking the piss, however as seen the members on here soon jumped in and gave you some honest valuation, Walkie been fast off the mark with a valuation of £175-£200 for Yak.

What you also must understand is this, there are many people who join this forum who don't even make a post, they come on here to read topics and learn more about the hobby, there are also people on here who come on to buy from honest sellers ( personally you I dont think are one of them) so some members on here may send you silly offers like £35 quid but there is nothing that can be done about that so there's no point yarping on about people purposely ripping you off.

Now then for you to be an honest seller how come there has been no mention of the offer I made you? I'll be honest as it's in my sent box, I offered you £150 before anybody made you an offer, let me explain my offer, sometimes on here it's the fastest finger first otherwise you can be out of luck, now before I made the offer I had a quick look at the pics, noticed Yak had what looked like a bad shaving rash under his chin, so I thought £100 for yak the rest of the figures mostly were laid down some stood which I thought most possibly have loose limbs and tbh the rest of the figures were of no interest to me anyway so if I had got £50 quid for them that would have been good with me, so by giving you an offer of £150 we could have then negotiated when I recieved more information about the figures I.e limbs etc... And who knows we could have maybe gone to £200 if they were all good which wouldn't of been far off the amount you got once you paid your fees,

Now I'm only going on so long because yes you mentioned about Poncho helping you out but other than that you seem to be annoyed by coming back here to post again when yet you were given help and advice and also other offers which you didn't even have the time to reply to, I think you were after as much as you could get ( no problem in that) I just don't feel your being honest with your last post!

Sorry guys I honestly had no idea of worth as had just started collecting I obviously would have used pm if I if I hadn't been new to the forum and was just getting used to what to do I do apologise if anybody feels they missed out cause of this. I think this forum is great and all of u are very helpful I get really frustrated as we all do as can't afford nowhere near what I would like don't worry il b more careful in the future if I do offer to low it's only because like all of us I'm trying to get a bargain and keep within my budget so as I've said before not trying to rip anyone off and whoever is selling only has to say no or even piss off

Not good , I always try and give fair valuations to the newbies, if you want to offer a figure , use the PM , but don't take the piss , if reflects on all of us !

No I didn't know value at all its thanks to u and the other guys on here im getting used to value and condition and other stuff

IMO even a relative novice would know that Yak was a valuable, HTF sought after piece?

I would disagree with this if im honest. If i dropped dead and my eldest lad, the heir to my star wars fortune, were to sell off my collection, he would have no idea that a yak was worth anymore than a rebel trooper!
I would also like to know who on earth would offer you £35 tho' as it would be interesting to see if they would know the value of a yak :D

I'm with Chiffy on this, and also Steve has wrote the same what I wrote today only I deleted it cause for some weird reason I thought someone might start chewing on about it :) so I agree let's close this as I can only see it causing bad vibes, and with Xmas around the corner no need for that :)

I think this is actually a good thread. Lets just say that the Yak was one of the repro ones from Ebay and seller was trying his luck ? Not saying he was, but be careful with ANY lots with Yak in future. People come here making out they know nothing, but its sometimes a tactic. Even with genuine figures, its becoming harder to come up with a valuation because times are a changing week in week out. Personally, id have a sticky saying that no valuations for anything, except if you have so many posts and are regular. Advise them to go to Ebay or go to Vectis or someone similar.

Just saying chaps :D Food for thought.

I'll be honest I found this forum whilst trying to find out about a Lego piece I have, yes I suppose a valuation, I'm not selling btw.
But I've been on here loads and I've improve my knowledge about vintage sw so much that I will be delving into getting some MOC's as soon as I can afford to.
I think that having a certain amount of posts before valuations is a good idea but, will people just pm them instead if someone puts something up?
Just saying.
