It's probably best just to go along. Prices are always good at FF and there will be plenty of stuff to buy there. Best part is that you can judge the condition of it all yourself because it's right there in front of you

That's a pretty broad question that's a tad hard to answer! At the event you get to look and hold the merchandise and prices are likely to be fair. On eBay its a lottery - might get a bargain, might get shafted...

It is probably the biggest collection of vintage items for sale in Europe. No exaggeration. The range and amount of items for sale is second to none. There is something for everyone.

Agreed, IMO you won't find fairer prices at any other face to face event. It's certainly been more reasonable than the big conventions the times I have been.

If you have never attended a show before, rather than it being 'just a Star Wars' event, it solely concentrates on the merchandise produced from the original trilogy era. You will not find a focused convergence of vintage toys and memorabilia for sale on a regular basis in the UK. In addition, each show features a small programme of presentations and talks, giving each attendee the benefit and insight of other collectors experience and expertise in the hobby.

The first presentation for the next show has been announced:



For as long as there have been Star Wars films, there have been Star Wars collectors. Amassing collections from action figures to bedroom curtains to food packaging and although Star Wars links them all together, an individual collector's behavior and characteristics can sometimes be indicative of the point of time they started collecting.
From the solitary existence pre-internet to the introduction of eBay, the congregation of forums and the explosion of social media, within a short space of time each technological leap in communication has spawned a new generation of collector.
As part of the Farthest From, The UK Star Wars Retro Toy Showpresentation schedule on 24th of April, Dave Tree will take a tongue in cheek overview of the habits of each generation, their traits and quirks, but more importantly how each can learn from one another to become better informed collectors and keep the hobby alive for the future generations ahead.

If it's of any help this is the view of FF from just inside the entrance, you can see just how packed it was not long after the doors had opened to the public:

When I went last year there were 7 or 8 stalls selling Vintage (although one was GW acrylic) and about half of them had carded figures for sale. When I say selling Vintage, that means nothing but Vintage Star Wars.

I think anyone that goes will enjoy themselves and most likely find something to purchase, great show.

He arrived quite early (as did I) and took an age to get the costume on in the middle of the car park, queued up with all of us outside the hall, did a quick tour then popped back to his car and changed back out of the outfit... I'd popped back to drop some GW Acrylic in my car-boot.. not stalking him! Quite a commitment to the infantry for at least half an hour's getting in and out of the whole kit on a hot day, for only about an hours wear.
I actually thought it was quite a nice touch on the day to have a trooper on site.

I had planned to Martin but not long after we booked to go abroad and see my in laws + extended family (after four bloody years!) Dave announced the dates for FF and they sodding clashed

Oh well, at least you don't have to put up with having me in the car on the way down again :lol:

PS: I remember seeing that Stormie guy dressing up in his gear as we pulled up in the morning too - still no idea who he was but I agree, was great to see someone do that at FF!

Damn I saw a graded greedo and a graded r2 d2 in one of those pictures! Need both of them! Judging by the size of it looks like you would only be there for an hour max? My point is I'm after some specific figures and if their not there or too expensive is feel I wasted my time? Or not?

...plus there are presentations on various vintage topics which are always interesting, especially for a new collector.
Dave is doing one himself this time which will be a treat - he managed to make bend ems seem cool on his last one so this time it should be mind blowing!

Hello Everyone,

It is with regret that due to a prior family commitment I personally will not be able to attend Farthest From on 24th April. Anyway, now that the cheering has died down , I am delighted to say that GW Acrylic will still be present and that the stand will be manned (loose term :wink: ) by Jamie (Fuzzybuzzytoys) - my sincere thanks to Jamie for the help.

Jamie will have a limited amount of stock available to buy on the day but the best way to ensure you get what you want is to pre-order and collect.

As you can see unfortunately we are sold out of the standard MOC cases (ADC-11) and DELTOF steps (ADS-31). Good news is that a very large stock shipment is due in end of May/start of June - I am also encouraging pre-orders on these items due to popularity and delivery of these orders will be prioritised once the stock arrives.

As ever many many thanks to everyone who continues to support this venture - exciting times are ahead and what this space for a BIG announcement soon...

Can you put me down for a couple of proof card cases and a couple of the large bubble cases (adc 15 ?) please. Will definitely be there and hopefully have a table again, cheers, Andy
