I would imagine Fordingbridge.

All booked for this trip 8) (I like to plan ahead)

For anyone who's staying in the area on Saturday there are a few different hotels nearby(ish). The one that looked good to me was The Augustus John. Not a bad price for B&B. Some decent reviews on accommodation and food, and it's on the same road through Fordingbridge as All The Cool Stuff.

For those not following the facebook page, two panels have been announced so far:

Star Wars Vintage Completest 1975-1989 by Grant Criddle.

The presentation will be a broad brush stroke of memorabilia and merchandise from the original Star Wars trilogy from 1975-1989.

It will consist of analyzing the concept of a completionist and the different interpretations of it and how it relates to Grant's own personal collecting journey.

It will cover the massive selection of items used to promote and sell alongside the Star Wars movies that are usually overlooked because of the interest focused on the action figures.
The presentation will look at apparel, banks, books, badges, ceramics, comics, masks, store displays, soap, stationary, transfers, glasses, food promotions, games, jigsaws, toys, computer games, jewelry, music, patches, watches, stickers, collectors cards and more.
The presentation help expand your knowledge of vintage Star Wars memorabilia and inspire your collecting journey.

A History of Star Wars Kubricks by Mark Alders..

For many Kubrick collectors, the first question they get asked is what is a Kubrick?
This presentation looks to answer that question along with how this line of collectibles has been impacted by the Star Wars vintage line from the late 1970s and early 1980s.
In 2002, Medicom put up preorders for a Star wars Kubrick Early Bird Set that would ship out in February of the next year. It was released exclusively for the Japanese market and the line is still active to this day. The presentation will begin by looking at the start of the Star Wars Kubrick figures and how they have continually paid homage to the vintage line, from releasing figures such as the vinyl caped Jawa, blue Snaggletooth and even a carded Blue Stars.

I'm working on my panel, which may need to be kept under wraps until the show itself, but lets just say there's a little something to be discussed and shown which most people have never seen.

oooo suspense

Dave

I was considering doing this as well but was unsure as to wether the evening party type thing was open invite or not.

as far as I'm concerned, the Saturday night and the show itself is open to everyone, so come on down :)

Excellent. Loving the sound of this.

Grant is a font of knowledge so am looking forward to his talk.

Kubrick's have always intrigued me so will be great to here more about them. 8)

Remember to follow the Farthest From Facebook page for the latest updates and awesome tidbits of nostalgia, like the UK Star Wars triple bill letters I just stuck up, you just don't find this stuff anywhere ;) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Farthest-From-The-UK-Star-Wars-Retro-Toy-Show/583316165029365?ref=hl

I'll just say again, Joe, I REALLY think you should come to this one ;)

I was pretty bummed out that I missed Gus and Duncan's visit..please don't tell me this one will be even more exciting

I feel your pain Joe - I told the missus the date the other day and she turned round to me and gave me a right mucky look - cos it's my little one's first birthday !

I did argue that I didn't think she'd really notice - being one and all - but the compromise we've reached is that basically any money that I take on the day does to the wife !

This is blatantly a "woman" test, if you choose to go to FFIV on your daughters 1st birthday your Mrs is going to make you pay for eternity!

You might be right there Joe - I think I will be paying for this for a while

...and who said that going for a complete run of MOCs doesn't take commitment and wads of cash. One can only stand and applaud a true devotee. Well done Iain.
I'll be there... even though it's my father-in-law's 72nd birthday (Sooo grateful for the get-out-clause that is FFIV!)

There will be a special "FF" offer on all acrylic products for that day ONLY... watch this space.

Thanks to Dave for all his usual efforts - fingers crossed you won't be so ****ing knackered running around like a loon to miss the craic.

Cheers,
Christian
