Farthest From IV

The motor home is filling up!
Me, Grant, Chris, Iain....
Iain, happy to meet you at mine mate, save on your fuel. Loads, and I mean loads of room for your stuff!
Grant, same way different day dude, I'll pick you up at Didcot.
Chris, whatever way you want to play it brother, I'm just glad the original crew are back!
Jason, dude happy to puck you up on route!
This will be a day long remembered......

Hi
Is this invite only or can any of us go ?
I have money to spend and a pass from the wife so I would love to go

where is it anyway ?
Cheers

As far as I know anyone can go.

It's in a place called Fordingbridge at a shop called All The Cool Stuff. If you read through the thread from the beginning the info is buried in there somewhere

It's not invite only and costs the princely sum of 50p to get in. It is not actually at Dave's shop but at the village hall over the road. It is a great chance to buy vintage and to talk vintage and to basically immerse yourself in vintage Star Wars for a day

Superb. Vintage mentioned three times in the one sentence, Iain... I've got goosebumps... looking forward to it already :D

And good to see you can make a proper weekend of it, Barry!

I'm afraid not, pal- making a whistle stop tour of the South East visiting family: I'll be driving down to Chiddingfold, Surrey on the Saturday and stopping at my sister's overnight- then heading over to Fordingbridge first thing Sunday morning.

Raise a glass for absent SWFUKers on that Saturday night, will you? I'll be there in spirit, and hopefully in person at the next jaunt after this one :D

Can I ask a question about this please chaps.

Is this event open to anybody or is it invite only. I am just a short hop down the south coast and would love to come to this.
Gents, this will be my first foray into a Farthest From gathering, too- I'll look forward to seeing you there.

I'll be parking up in Fordingbridge in this:

See you on the 15th, and very much looking forward to meeting up with Jez, Grant, Chris (and hopefully) Mumbo once again.

Grant: move into the spotlight, centre stage. I for one would really like to hear how your oddball collecting has evolved over the years. Do it. DO IT. and perhaps think about doing a little Helix showcase presentation...?

Thanks Jez, was looking at the route on google maps and it was left and down to Fordingbridge, didn't come close to London as far as I could tell.

I'll say yes and hopefully the logistics will become clearly closer the time.

Anyone want to buy some cardbacks to help finance the trip?

:)

Jason

well Grant was going to talk about Star Wars erasers when I saw him at Cardiff, and Marc about Star Wars Kubricks, both with vintage roots and both freaking awesome to learn about, so I hope you're both still on board for doing them.

Gary may be using upstairs to film Binding The Galaxy Together, and will be keen to interview vintage collectors throughout the day.

The only one set in stone is Eddie will be joining me from The Full Force podcast (if Palitoy actually means more to you than a logo on Star Wars, then tune in https://www.facebook.com/TheFullForce?ref=hl), to co-present the Old New News, which will go over the relevant vintage news and discoveries (and yes there are some if you're interested in that sort of stuff)

There will be a fuzzy figure or two and possibly some form of promo/ prize to be had too.

Anything goes, just please leave any ego at the door, enjoy, make new friends and don't be afraid to ask any questions.

For those wanting to contribute or have a dealer table, please mail [email protected] to allow me to manage the process rather than posting it in a thread in danger of being missed by me :)

All the best,
Dave

Anyone needing a lift from the North or the midlands give me a shout and I'll see what I can do. 6 1/2 hrs isn't really that long. Just like making love twice. 8)

Your braver than I thought

So so pleased you can make this Martin, looking forward to having a look at the old motor as well.

Shame you can't make it for a pint of ale and a chin wag on the Saturday.

Are the two of you bringing your Arnie impressions? If you are I might give it a miss.

If I have any money after my holiday I might cruise on down.

I can make it and would love to come. It would be great to meet with some of the people on the forum, plus hopefully I will have some cash to splash. I work for the electricity board so this week with the bad weather has been quite intense but quite lucrative and the date will be just in time for the overtime to come through.

I think I am free all weekend so could come down on the saturday, if that is open to all. If not, then I will certainly be there on the Sunday.

I have some modern bits I want to trade for vintage. Would it be worth my while bringing them along?

A real shame, Chris- but it's a good chance for me to call in on friends and family in the Surrey/Sussex area on the run up to the festive period  There'll be another occasion for a chink of the pint pots, no doubt!
