eBay - Global Shitting Programme and Yodel

Good question.

Anyone else think that eBay/PayPal is a giant scam?
ermmmmmmmmm yes! but we all still use it and will continue you to do so theres nothing else out there really. i hate how paypal stings you and ebay favour buyers not sellers and fees always going up.

i miss yahoo auctions!

Well one parcel received safely, but the second I've ordered through this new program has been lost. It was allegedly delivered yesterday and now shows as 'delivered' on the tracking, but I haven't got it. No idea where this leaves me, what will eBay do if I say it hasn't been delivered but the tracking says it has?

Won't be using this again.

Hopefully enough people will complain and sellers will not use it, but I'm not holding my breath. There's an ok Palitoy Laser rifle on the bay now, overpriced for sure but with import charges of $180. Yes, $180. Even if I won the lottery I would not pay that, especially if some cheap courier is going to leave it by my backdoor without letting me know it's there.
One of the worst things Ebay has ever introduced.

I just can't understand why US seller's are signing up to this :? Or not opting out as may have to be the case. Nearly every auction I see with this attached, has the import charge a good bit more than the original postage quote? Which puts buyers off. Why not just go to the post office yourself? Why post it to someone to post it on.....baffled???

I think it plays on some Americans fear of sending items abroad. I can see why they sign up to it but once it is explained to them that it is more likely to cost them sales then I imagine quite a few will drop out

It scares me more to send someting one state away from me. So many tools here in the states (not that the UK lacks any themselves).....Hey....I never received my item....while they are holding it and eating a bag of Doritos.

i think ebay play the "guranteed delivery card" with the seller, it makes ebay responsible for the delivery so if a buyer says it never arrived ebay cover the loss, it gives international sellers the peace of mind that they wont get scammed for using a standard service.

it is all bollocks though, ebay cap a huge profit on it and then just use standard tracked mail.
