I opened a "Item not received case" - it arrived the next day but It's not as described

If I close the first I can't open another right? how do you go about this???

Do not close the case. You won't be able to open another one for the same item.
Write a message in the current case saying the item is received but not correct. If he kicks up a fuss you'll have to call ebay.

Yep. Pete is right - don't close the case - if you update the notes and then escalate it I am sure you will still win (i.e. be asked to return it for a refund)
