Double Telescoping Luke

For no specific reason at all :wink: I'd like to know what you think would be a good price to pay for a minty loose Luke with DT saber?

Ive seen them sell for £150 - £200 loose but they seem to be creeping up in value like the VC Jawa.

if it was Minty i would say £250 - £300 is about right for the current market

£400 is crazy money. Like the VC jawa it's rarer than the later version, but it's not that rare. There's literally thousands of them out there! Plus bear in mind you're really just paying £390 for the sabre - you can pick up a dead mint Luke Farmboy with no sabre for about £10.

yeah i know the rarity, condition and those factors too , but still i just dont get it, after all i would say a lot of collectors seeing a mint luke with sabre in a collection would be impressed, and maybe its the actual cost that impresses some collectors,, like £2600 on a gucci handbag,,, its just a handbag,, rarer ,, sure but its the cost that impresses.

if it was a piece that was different in a big way and rare too boot yeah then maybe a bit more , its like the tri-logo madine,,,, its just a madine , sure the card is mega rare.

however i would be impressed and pay for a 12 back jawa or stormie, its just the mega bucks stuff i still dont understand.

Indeed Steve but where do you draw the line at mega bucks?

Theft dt is an iconic figure because of its back story and because its ties to the early set. It's difficult to say this is worth this and that is worth that. Each piece is worth whatever the market dictates. As it is, the dt Luke is a popular iconic figure available in relatively limited numbers so it will always command a premium. I do agree with you that the actual material value of the of the plastic sabre is not worth 200+ pounds.

Hi,

I have recently purchased an original dt Luke. The saber is fantastic- not bent like a lot of them. The Luke itself has a discoloured torso, I have been trying to find a mint luke with the correct three line coo- Edd- if you have a mint one for £10 drop me a line dude
I just paid £190 plus some fees- bastard import duty- taking the total to £250.

The figure in hand is just brilliant. I am very happy with my purchase- It will be graded when I find a mint Luke to go with it

Are you sure the inner saber is original? It's a completely different colour to the out saber :shock: I'm no expert on these, i havn't even owned one.....but i would have thought they'd be the same colour?

Chewie, that happens mate. Mine is too. Maybe it's made from a different kind of plastic.

Here is a tree of them during production.
If you look you can see the inner sabres are slightly yellower than the outside sabres.
But as they are not moulded on the same tree it might be as simple as different batches of plastic which are slightly different colour.

Wow- that tree of dts is incredible- wonder I any have survived?

As for the colour difference it's very common. I'm 100 % it's legit- the seller is well regarded and the small details all Yalu with various guides.
