At about the same time as the SW toys were released (probably in the 1977-81 period) I used to have a brown plastic mountain playset. It was about 2ft high and was some kind of army base as the top of the mountain opened up, as did panels in the side to allow vehicles to shoot out. Does anyone know what this could have been? I don't have a photo unfortunately but I'm just hoping somebody might remember such a thing

I think I know what you mean, but I've no idea what it was called.
What it not some action force thing?

I do recall the Mask one as my younger brother had it. The mountain I remember was a fair bit older though and probably pre-Action Force Weasel.

Showing my age now

Just seen this post Simon - I think I used to have the same thing and I'd forgotten all about it. Were the figures like Action Jacks and did it come with a helicopter boat and jeep?

I used to love that set - I'm too old for MASK too

That sounds like the one :D I certainly remember a fold down ramp and a boat. Not sure about the figures, but then I've just looked up Action Jacks and found this http://media.photobucket.com/image/action%20jacks/toyspace72/AFA/9.jpg

Thats it! My Star Wars figures commandeered it though. It was great for the minirigs if I remember right 8)

Lol, ever since i saw this thread i've been racking my memory banks to try & think of the name of those little fellas. ACTION JACKS!!!!! I had dozens of those before i got into SW figs as a kid. Now i can sleep again at night!!

Action Jacks were slightly different to those MAC figures, AJs were like mini action men with loads of accessories. They were great though :)

You found a view of the front as well 8) I'd forgotten that the figures could climb the mountain. Didn't realise it was Matchbox either :)

Love the add-on boat with free big ****-off sized shark on the next page as well

lol

I'd forgotten how much I had - I had the fire truck, jeep, helicopter, one of those six wheeled things and a rubber dinghy. My parents must have felt rich that year :D

I think I might try and track them down again - there are a few things on ebay
