I'm in Disneyland Paris at the moment and while there has always been some SW for sale there is a **** load of merchandise there now, virtually every shop has Kenner, hasbro action figures, Lego, t-shirts and a load of shite that appeals to the under 9s
Looks like Disney might want to push their 4 billion dollar franchise. Star Wars is forever for sure.

All the 'toys' made from now on could and maybe will be seen as a new era. I don't think it will do much for vintage stuff in the short term but it will get a whole new generation into SW and SW toys, so the ten year olds today could become collectors in ten years time and that will impact the prices of what we think of as vintage and modern lines today. I do think that it could create a greater demand and increase for what we call modern today sooner as these will be more atainable and an obvious starting point for new collectors, and dont forget these modern lines stretch back to the 90's so arent exactly 'new'. All of which means we have three distinct toy periods.
Vintage - Kenner etc. 1977 - 1984
Modern - Kenenr/Hasbro 1994 - 2012
New Modern - Hasbro/Disney 2013 - ???? (End of time I suspect)
Or something like that.

I think that is a good call, maybe an extra category between the buff POTF2 figures and the newer Hasbro's that kick their ass!!!
In the long run this will help vintage pieces by introducing collectors for years to come and helping maintain interest and prices. Just a shame I think the films will be **** :lol:
