Yup same here. Ended up with about 150 figures, about half survived complete with accessories, which I used to keep inside Jabba's throne! Consider myself damn lucky to still have 99% of my childhood collection, favourite piece is my battered old Falcon - it may not look like much but she's got it where it counts!
Could be a while until I get a limelight sorted, so here's a quick pic of my haul from back in the day..
There's also the Taun tauns, Imperial troop transport, mini-rigs and some other stuff like comics etc. No boxes survived but about 50 backers did, mostly Jedi and Tri cards. I suppose I did 'collect' first time round in that if I had a figure and managed to get a second, I'd put the better one aside for display. Also bought and traded with other kids to build little armies and extras.
As a parent myself, I realise how awesome my childhood was and I treasure my old stuff!
