Damaged in transit

Fair point - I would like to think that reputation would mean something in that case but it is your prerogative to think as you will

I guess that you are from the school of thought that 'two wrongs don't make a right'

It takes a lot of work to build a good rep, but I've seen it destroyed even quicker with many collectors that were once considered good. I'm not saying that I think that of you myself right now, but in posting something like this, your rep very well could be on the line.

I believe in being honest with people I deal with.

I'm also giving the benefit of the doubt that this seller isn't a collector and had no idea they were doing a "wrong" and you are suggesting they be raked over the coals for it without even a chance to make it right. There is a chance they'd even refund without having to go through the whole claim process.

I am not sure why my reputation is on the line at all to be honest

Anyway - looks like the seller might have another problem to deal with now !

Just want to say that Iain is a 100% seller.......

On the subject of the MOC 21 Back, sorry to hear your troubles Lee. Hope you get sorted, If its a repro then F@*k Him

No worries then. :)

Lee, I hope you can get it sorted. I'm sure if you post some pics or link to the auction, you'll get some feedback about it being a repro or not.

I must admit while a damaged MOC sucks donkey balls, I would rather send it back and get my money back than lie about it not arriving. Just my 2p's worth

I don't know what to say to this seller.....

...so i'll let this guy do it for me:

i had a warok potf moc where the bubble came off in the post it was too posted with a jiffy bag and i paid a high postal charge, one would assume it would be padded well for the postal charge in the end i got ten pound partial refund.

Your right mate, I just think bad packaging and repros are a bit of a sore point for collectors.
Lesson learnt, I'm gonna avoid fleabay from now. Still waiting on a response from the seller. Told him its damaged due to poor packaging and I'd like a refund. I haven't started about it being a repro yet. I just want a refund.

Paypal will just take the money back, its the one thing I know they will do right and thats screw the seller. On the up side this time the seller actually desrves the ass raping

Mate- i had a ERG Mailed in a jiffy bag, but it was fine. Dont be put off ebay- 99% of the transactions ive had have been fine and if you buy from one of the many sellers like me you get item packaged that would survive a journey down the Amazon. If your gonna buy something of significant value- get a dialogue going with the seller is my advice.

Yep they sure are, I have had my fair share of things turning up bent in half, cracked or fubar but that's usually when I go against my better judgement and buy off of ebay!

Stick to the boards and you should be ok, most people on forums have an IQ above the average ebay seller (akin to sloth from the goonies)

I think it's important to remember that the seller was asked to pack this item in a box and decided not to. A thoughtless thing to do which would deserve a harsh and severe reaction in my book.
I'm not taking sides i just think it's important to remember that fact. (it was stated in the original post)

The seller messages me this morning, saying, as I thought he would, it was my problem, I was patronising by saying he should box it up, it was genuine, etc.
It was clear he wasn't having any of it so I opened a case with PayPal.
He then somehow got my mobile number and rang me saying I was a bully and he thought I was trying it on to keep the item and get my money back too. He also said he wanted to come to my house so we could sort it out! Dickhead!
Later on he sent his last message, saying PayPal told him he was in the wrong and would be refunding me. What a start to the day.
The main thing is, it's looking like I won't be out of pocket. I must be a soft touch as I'm gonna send it back in a box even though it's so tempting to just throw it back in his jiffy bag.

He rang you up???! **** me

Please, Lee, I beg you... put his mobile number on here! I will gladly give him a call. I'm on nights soon so can give him another call then too :D

ha ha - I would think that if not admitting that something has been delivered was to be frowned upon, then prank calls would be a bit no no

Sounds like the guy is a complete and utter wanker and as soon as this is resolved Lee you should post his ebay account on here in the watch out thread

He pulled the old withheld number trick. Funny thing is, for all his stupid behaviour, he did seem quite genuinely shocked when I told him it was a repro. Either that, or he's a good liar!! He's a twat either way

I would strongly advise you not speak to him. If he calls say "paypal is dealing with the case" and hang up.
When you open a case with paypal they sometimes ask for your number and ask if you would like the seller to be given your number. I always no "NO!"
Because he has refused a refund and is refusing to help or admit any fault he will lose the paypal case and you will get your money back and get to keep the item. Which is exactly what this tosser's pig-headedness deserves. Just sit tight.
They say the best revenge is living well but i've always believed the best revenge is completely destroying someone. Good luck.

Dont post it back!

If its a repro you can state its a fake and you legally cannot post it back.

Ebay will side with you and you will get your refund, also if you post it back he can refuse to accept the delivery and cause you even more hassle, get steve at UKG to verify its a fake and forward that info to ebay...sorted

if i were you i would not post it back.

Just to note

I have done this before, EVEN if he requests you send it back, dont do it, let the ebay case run (even if the motes say to send it back) and it will eventually go to ebay to review, call them ect and forward the infomation of repro and you WILL win the case and be asked to destroy the item :)

dont spent your money sending that **** recorded delivery only for him to have it sent back.
