Hey All

I sold a large Lego set on Ebay a couple of weeks ago. It went to a guy in Singapore and arrived safely on the 21st of this month. He contacted me yesterday to say that it was received but he has been charged S$65 for inward shipment. He was questioning as he said he paid a hefty amount for shipping so asked if I could verify this.

Now I did a little digging on the interweb and it looks to me like the 7% fees Singapore put on anything. If this is the case I am not under pressure to give a refund am I, these charges are out of my control.

If I ring FedEx will they be able to verify if this is a custom's fee for me???

Cheers guys

Absolutely nothing to do with you mate, it even says on eBay now when you buy from abroad that there may be customs fees that you are responsible for. The same happened to me with a parcel sent to Dubai recently, I just replied politely saying sorry your countries import duty is not my problem.

Surely if you live in a country you should know what their import fee's are/

Even if they don't know about them, it's 100% their responsibility. If they get funny let them open a Paypal case, they will side with you no question.

i would hazard a guess he knew anyway but is testing the water to see if you would pay him some kind of compensation.

Just do what Edd said, be polite and say his countries import taxes are his responsibility.
