Dunno about Vaughan. Since he started doing Radio and TV work my opinion of him has changed, and not for the better. I thought he was a great captain, now I rank him alongside Ian Wright in the knuckle dragging band wagon jumping muppet stakes.

your right samakakka what ever his name is told him twice and pointed it to the umpire. after the game matthews defended him but then said he would never uphold this sort of appeal again. i think it was quite clever of the bowler do to it... still a dirty tactic but a wicket is a wicket

on a side note. i hope jordan gets a run in the test team. noticed he took a good slip catch aswell could replace swanns fielding position

what an innings by ali 6 hours at the crease 281 balls!played all day! what a knock. its a shame what with ben stokes to come back i think ali will be sacrificed. a very thorpe'esq innnings *graham thorpe* by ali. if this is his last test at least his average is above 50.

anderson did brilliantly to survive for aslong as he did, he shouldnt blame himself it was the senior batters who let us down i.e cook, root in the last innings

on a postive note its good too see all the new faces have performed well robson a 100 ballance a 100 ali a 100 plunkett after years away 9 wickets. also jordan has a massive future

It was a weird one. England should have won the first test but SL held on. Then you should have won the second test but your bowlers let you down in the second innings and the batsman let you down in your own second innings.

Something is not right with the England Cricket team ATM, very much less than the sum of its parts.
SL are a decent enough side, but you should be beating them in a home series. They only have three really good players. Arguably that's two more than England on current form.

Cook's captaincy has been getting a massive slatting, but I don't know who you give it to if you take it off him. There are only really three other candidates. Bell, Anderson and Broad. Everyone else is far too inexperienced in Test cricket or in Matt Prior's case, isn't certain of his place in the side. Stuart Broad hasn't impressed as One day skipper. Not sure Jimmy Anderson or Ian Bell have much captaincy experience themselves.

Not sure you can play Morgan primarily for his captaincy skills, he's no Mike Brearly. Plus, I'm still hoping he gives up on your lot and comes back to play for Ireland!
