next test drop patel and bring in monty finn for bresnan if fit and bairstow maybe he shows no fear for a batter whos lost form...........

Bell's away home to be there for his kid being born, why not bring Monty in for him? Finn for Bresnan is a possible extra change.

The only down side is it's your batting that is letting you down and whilst Bell didn't exactly look like he'd seen a spinner before you'd have a wee tad more faith in him batting for half an hour than Monty! Unless you can find the Monty from Cardiff two summers ago.
Bringing in Finn for Bresnan will only further weaken the batting line up.

I've always thought picking bowlers because they can bat is somewhat retarded logic. The batting should be done by........the batsmen! But if you have two reasonably equal bowlers it makes sense to pick the one who will give you that bit extra, ie the one who can bat. Saying that England could play with 15 batsmen and still won't win until they figure out how to play spin!

That Aussie v's SA test looks like it's been played on a flat track. Aussies 550 all out, SA 217 for 2.

Some strange old test matches on the go atm, that one, with runs scored galore and the Bangladesh windies one, where the Bangladesh number scores a century on debut and then the Windies go mad, 564 for 4!

That's FOUR double centuries in the space of a week! Michael Clarke, twice, Pujara and Marlon Samuels.

Wow, what a series win and after being completely outplayed in the first test. Personally didnt think we had it in us but am thrilled they have proven me wrong.
