As most of you know I am fairly new to the scene but was wondering what members felt would slice more off a cards value..Having a cracked blister or having had the pop cut out- assume card condition etc on a level playing field..
Thanks in advance

Robert

I'd say the cracked bubble (assuming the POP has been removed so that it only shows from the back).

I have a few of these and they still display well.

Depends where the POP is and how it's removed - if it's one of those in the bottom corner and has been cut through the card/bubble, then IMO that's worse than a crack. However if the POP has been removed carefully and is only visible from the back, then it's better than a crack.

cracks can get worse on their own or with bad handling, temperature ect, i would much rather have a pop removed if it was out of sight, i think pop gone would hold better value personally.

I agree as long as the pop has been removed neatly then it's less of an issue than cracked bubble for me.

I tend to prefer everything to be complete, so would rather have slight damage than an incomplete card

However I guess a lot would depend on displayability.

I have less problem with a POP removal (if done neatly and even better if it only affects one side of the cardback) than cracks in bubbles. Having said that I have a few of each in my collection... cracked bubbles are higher on my list to upgrade though.

Assuming the pop has been cut out completely, so the front of the card has a visible hole in it, then I'd take the cracked bubble every time. Like everyone else says however, if the pop removal is only visible on the cardback with the front remaining intact, then I'd prefer the pop removal. It basically boils down to what affects the card front aesthetic the least.

I too am a completist so frown on pop or name plate removal :!: prefer a neat small bubble crack all day

Depends. I have an ESB Greedo where the pop has been removed but it's nice and neat behind the bubble. Hardly noticeable. A cracked bubble can look very unsightly but the same can be said of a badly cut out pop. Personally I like cracked bubbles less than a removed pop
