On that note, while i was at work last week the council very kindly put speed bumps on my road. NINE of them!

Delighted wouldn't quite describe it.

They gave me a £65 parking ticket because they removed the resident parking privilege from certain bays on my road for the 2 weeks during the Olympics. Apparently the fact I have lived there for 4 years so obviously don't check the sign every time I park my car isn't a good enough reason not to pay it. Absolute CUNTS.

Local councils are so over represented here it's absurd, I'm sure it's the same world over.

We had the same thing happen here when we first held the Formula one race, as it's a street race they thought it would be a great idea to change the parking signs over night and not inform the hapless residents. Thousands of people where issued parking fines the very next day as they hadn't check the parking signs in case they had been changed. ****in Arseholes and Grand Pricks indeed.

I'm sure any judge with half a brain would have found in my favour, but it's just not worth the hassle for £65.

Was just think I would have flat out refused to pay.
Would love to see them try and argue that in court!

Can't really complain about our lot, I put a well filled up wheelie bin out and 5 (yes 5) additional Black sacks. Woke up this morning all gone.

Nice thought, but in the mean time your details will be passed to debt collectors and your credit score screwed. Definitely not worth it.

Fair point!

I wonder if you contest it, or tell them you want to take it to the small claims court (ignoring the hassle/cost element) does that stop them passing the debt over?

Found out why my rubbish wasn't collected on Friday on my local councils website - answer because of the snow!!

I and loads of other people are expected to go to work and risk life and limb to get there - my journey in particular involves very hilly parts - one is descending the Cotswold escarpment and on return ascending it with hairpin corners and steep inclines - very scary and not fun the best of times let alone in the snow.

Noticed buses were running albeit a revised timetable, postie was on his rounds, yet the binmen a no show?
