I wish I had more time to photograph and document the others I have to share. A quarter of the way through the year and only 2 figures added to the thread. I'll endeavour to get a couple more done before the end of May!

Rebel Soldier Variants

• We'll be looking at the Poch, PBP & Meccano figures and their Kenner cousins of the same Coo family

That said, Here's the guide.....

Notice :
• Whiter trousers and neck tie on Poch figure (Creamier on Kenner)
• Thinner black bar at bottom of chest emblem on Poch

Left to right, Fam 1 MIHK Poch, PBP Pale face, PBP Cream face & PBP Pink face
All four spanish produced. The dark brown rebel soldier (DBRS) can come in two tones, A muddy brown as can be seen on the pale face figure, and a richer red-brown which can be seen on both the creamy and pink face figures.

Left to right, PBP Pale face, PBP Cream face, PBP Pink face & Fam 3 HK (Kenner)
The three DBRS are alongside their parent figure, The Family 3 HK Kenner. The mould is the same, But the appearance is very different, which makes the DBRS such a great variant!

Yeah Rebel soldier is such a great sculpt, and so many Coo's to collect also. Difficult to narrow it down to just 8 variants for this thread, because the China and blank raised bar figures are quirky too! There's also a few different minor paint app variants on the Poch figures also, But this info can be found elsewhere on the net.

Going to photograph one of my favourite figures next, It's an all No Coo collection of eight figures............

Note to self : Must document some more of my figures soon :idea:
The pbp hammerheads have a lighter blue imperial blaster with the bar underneath the clip.

AT-AT Driver Variants (no coo)

• We'll be looking at four No Coo PBP figures vs four Euro No Coo figures...

That said, Here's the guide.....

Left to right,

Notice how on the reverse the PBP figures have a darker red tone to the torso shapes...

Notice how on the reverse the EURO figures have a lighter orange tone to the torso shapes...

The PBP AT-AT Driver figures have a hard plastic sculpt, Akin to that of the PBP snowtroopers. It is very noticeable against the softer sculpt of the EURO and kenner figures.
You see the difference in the helmet emblems below...

Exclusive to Poch in my belief. The PBP helmet emblems are a dark orange. The red colour tones on the Poch figures is very distinctive. It also features on the Ig-88 red eyes, Bespin guard etc

Han Solo Hoth Fatigues Variants

• We'll be looking at the No Coo figures only, including Kenner & Euro/PBP

That said, Here's the guide.....

Coo guide...
The 'rough' and 'smooth' descriptions refer to the feel/look of the scars.

Left to right, Kenner No Coo, PBP/Euro Pure pink face, PBP White face/Violet jacket, PBP/Euro Pale face

The PBP/Euro 'Pale' face figures are so called because they clearly have a lighter pink hue applied over the top of a white base. They therefore differ from the 'Pure pink' face and the 'white' face as these two variants only have one tone of colour applied to their face.

As you can see there are a wide range of scars on the PBP/Euro 'Pale' face figures, which is very common and in line with other PBP/Euro figures like the No Coo Scar Snowtrooper and the No Coo Scar Landos for example.

Back row, PBP/Euro Pale face 4 different scars;
Front row L > R, PBP/Euro Pure pink face & PBP White face/Violet jacket

These PBP/Euro figures generally came packaged with imperial blasters, whilst their No Coo kenner counterparts came with the standard rebel blaster.

If the photos and info provided assist just one person in some small form then the thread is performing the task that I want it to, spread the joy of variants throughout the collecting community. Some people love/appreciate the variants quirks and differences, Some people just see 8 of the exact same figure, All is fair.

The three different face colours on the PBP Luke X-wings mirrors what we have seen in other PBP figures, Like the rebel soldier, AT-AT commander, Dengar, Luke Hoth which all have 3 different face colours applied in PBP factories!

The helmet emblems on the PBP Luke's are very fragile. Finding them mint is both tricky, and expensive, But look how much more beautiful the figure looks with them!

Darth Vader No Coo Guide

No Coo Guide...
We're only looking at four of the Vader Coo families for this No Coo guide. Families 1, 3, 4 & 6 which produces eight No Coo variants...

left to right,
Raised bar 1.2a, Raised bar 1.2b, Erased 3.2a & Erased 3.2b

left to right,
Lili Ledy, PBP/Euro 'deep scar', PBP/Euro 'H remaining', & PBP/Euro 'blobbed out'

The Lili ledy chest plate paint application is short, Neat and precise. However, When we look at the PBP figures, we can see over-spray across the board, Which is very consistent with PBP production. The blobbed out Coo of the same family does have a different paint application when compared to the other two figures next to it.

Lili Ledy, PBP/Euro 'deep scar', PBP/Euro 'H remaining', & PBP/Euro 'blobbed out'

When we compare the capes and sabers, We can see the PBP cape is rugose in nature and is quite rigid, whilst the Lili Ledy cape is smooth on both sides and feels more flexible and rubbery. Neither cape has a crosshatch side which makes a zipping sound, like the Kenner capes. The Lili Ledy saber is of very thick tip, as we also saw in the Ben Kenobi coo guide earlier. It only remotely compares in appearance to the Vader glasslite saber as it is nothing like any Kenner sabre. The PBP sabre has a rounded tip and is slightly darker in colour compared to its Kenner cousin.
