In summary

the loose overstock of palitoy lxw that sell on ebay.au. that have been on ebay for alongtime

someone asked if there real and surely it was to good to be true.

Of course there legit.....duh...we all know this here

Then loads of people pounced and bought one.

ooh i bought one look at me...yay

Ahh the facebook mentality

did make me laugh

Yeah, I saw this. I made the point that they'd been listed for years and not sold.

The seller had put them down as free P&P to the UK, which meant the figures were around £14 without a weapon. Certainly more affordable now the £18 postage charge has been removed, but still seems steep to me.

The figures were described as 'uncirculated palitoy stock' (which was known) but also had 'factory paint faults or very minor rubs'. One photo shows them carefully stored in bubble wrap, whilst the other shows them all thrown together like a scene from a Roman orgy.

I wonder if there'll be the same frenzy over the seller's uncirculated Madine figures?!

There was a oz seller who had loads of luke green sabers too some years back which came from palitoy. Is it the same seller?

That Palitoy overstock could not have ended up much further away from Leicester !

I'd personally considered buying one or two of these overstocks fairly recently. But the price was too high for my tastes.

He had some Luke Jedi's with capes only at one stage.

Seems like a lot of trading is moving to Wastebook. I am not a member of that myself, but there has been a drop off in moc's and loose in recent months on eBay and here, with eBay prices not being as high as they were as well.

You're not missing anything mate. FB groups are full of overpriced stuff now (they are all using eBay as a price reference)... and people that think they know everything. You can get the odd reasonable priced item, but by the time you see the post, 20 people have got their before you.... or as lately, someone ruins it for someone else by saying they are selling it too cheap !!

It's funny, not so long ago Facebook groups were hailed as the alternate to eBay and folks stating eBay was a rip off and that FB was the place for real collectors and sellers. Oh how times have swiftly changed to favour the profiteers and flippers.. and of course bloody experts!
I guess the benefit is that you can still save fees as a seller, but as a buyer, its becoming less (if at all) worthwhile!

I am amazed by the so called experts on their, it seems any old bit shite gets put there as fact. I have read so many false bits of info its unreal. I don't recall the old forums being full of hearsay, half truths and outright lies like you see on facebook. Maybe I'm just old?
