I am looking at updating the spreadsheet i use to keep a track of all of my SW collectables and thought i would ask here what methods/spreadsheets you guys use.

If possible could you either list the headings you use or even take a screen dump and post in the thread.

Thanks guys
Steve

Ron, thanks but as mentioned i intend to set up a new spreadsheet (which will be in excel) but i wondered what headings people actually use.

Hey Steve, I've recently started using Bento It is only for the mac, so that might be a problem. The nice thing is they also have a client for the iPhone, so you can sync the database right on over to it too. As of right now I have my carded/coins/mailers all punched in. This is a screenshot I posted on RS a while ago, but I can get some other if you like of the actual tables and some of the other sections.

Another option would be the full blown filemaker, but it runs $299. In a recent article it was mentioned that Sansweet's curator used filemaker to keep track of his collection. It has the benefit of running on both Windows and Mac.

Shawn,

thanks for that. And yes a slight problem as i run on PC not mac. I may have to look around for some other freeware or maybe evn buy some cheap software to run like this.

Thanks
Steve

Interesting stuff.
I currently use an excel spreadsheet for my loose figs & coins. It's only really a checklist.
I like the look of bento tho Shawn. I might get that, especially as i run a macbook & iphone like yourself. Is the iphone version extra mate?

Here are a few more screenshots of the coins and mailers sections as well as the raw tables. It has the option of exporting the data to excel which is also nice. The iPhone app runs about $5, so it isn't too bad. I need to do some cleanup on some of my fields, but I would gladly share the template if anyone wants to use it as a starting point.

Cool Shawn. Looks good. The program looks a little pricey (80 AU bux), but i might go for it. I'd be interested in "borrowing" your templates fo'sure.

Definatley use this software mate...it toyally free

http://www.whatyouown.org/faq.html

its called what you own home inventory, you can create a star wars inventory, tag images, value, what room in the house its in ect.

It may seem boring but I just use Microsoft Word, set it up for auto numbering when listing. Served me well for a few years now. However I would like a system that enables you to click on thumbnails to bring up full size pictures of the item. But then again it would take ages to photo all the gear.

It's still a (long) work in progress but Toyhoard http://www.toyhoard.com is for exactly this...posting pics and data about your collection. It's all web based entry through java so there's no software to download and it's totally free...courtesy of me. :)
