Hi all,

This is bit of a long shot so I'm casting my wanted net as wide as possible. I'm also keeping an eye on eBay just in case I get lucky.

I'm after an original sleeve only for a 1982 Star Wars VHS first release. These were the ones with text on the front saying "Rental Library".

I have an original cassette tape and box but the sleeve turns out to be an early colour photocopy. You can tell by looking closely at the TCFV label on the spine. A photocopy will be matt without the glossy 'shine' found on an original.

Here's how an original looks.

Thanks!

Yes, not that easy to find just an original sleeve these days. It wasn't cheap but I'm happy to replace my 'photocopy' with an orginal one. The original case and cassette needed this 🤩

hey, im desperate for one, any chance you could scan it and upload??
I can but not for a while. It's currently in storage with family. I'm hoping to visit and collect it, but not before the summer I'm afraid. If you can wait then I'm happy to do it for you.

if i can't find one by then then that'd be great thanks
Hi stevedee1970,

I finally retrieved my first edition VHS trilogy set and have now scanned all three covers.

Here's the one you requested (better late than never!). I've used an Epson scanner and it should be good enough quality to reproduce in it's actual size. I think the colours are very accurate too.

I took the liberty to digitally edit out the fold creases which were along the spine. One thing I noticed is the black on the spine is different to the black on the front and back cover. At first glance I thought it might have just faded in light but it's actually a lighter black.

This original is on medium/heavy weight semi-gloss paper. Certainly thicker than standard paper.

I'm planning to do some digital scans of the films in future but haven't checked the tape quality yet.

Oh, the original file I uploaded was 1.58mb but looks like it's been automatically, compressed to just 402kb. Not sure if the smaller size will be good enough for printing
