Thanks for the kind words guys.
The guy who got eaten a couple of weeks back was my cousins best mate. Apparently they used to go diving where he was taken for Crayfish quite a bit.
Would of been rough on his brother pulling in half the body at the time and driving it back to the boat ramp. And they got some more of him back a week later I think. Washed up on a beach about 80km away. They had to postpone the funeral apparently, which would of made it all a bit worse.
The Abalone diver I knew through shelling. He was quite a big name in the game. Had a collection worth at least a couple of million $. He was a mad bastard though, in the sense that he would go diving at anytime, night or day. :? When you are in the water that much you are bound to come across sharks eventually. He had already had a couple of close encounters, as most Abalone divers do if they are in the game long enough, so I guess you can only roll the dice so much, before you're **** out of luck.
Both died doing what they loved doing though.
I would say you are seriously missing out on life in these are the sorts of things that stop you going to other countries though. I could understand not wanting to go anywhere where a war is taking place...but because of some spiders or a few sharks it wouldn't stop me given the chance.
**** happens guys. When your number is up, your number is up. We only get one chance at life.
I forgot to add one other dangerous creature that is known to frequent our waters.
If you ever see one....stay well the **** away
