Close encounters of the eight legged kind.

Its quite simple lads. If there are sharks in the water. (DONT GO IN THE FU*KING WATER)!!!

Sorry about your friend Josho. Ever since I saw Jaws Iv had a respect for water and the predators that lurk in it.

Regards

Grant.

Respect Grant or fear? lol - I am **** scared of the water too tbh! I wouldn't even go for a swim in Southend-on-Sea (mind you probably get a face full of dirty nappy quicker than a face full of Shark)

Australia scares the bejesus out of me - its like someone put all the most dangerous animals in one (admittedly very big) place and said, humans keep out

The only thing that scares me a little are spiders. Creep me out more than anything though I guess.
With the amount of people who are outdoor types here, not many meet an unfortunate end really.

And then there are the twits who do this sort of thing that deserve to be eaten.

That's a crocodile trap if you didn't know.

The most vicious spider we have here would have to be Sydney's Funnel Web spider, those bastards can live in trees and drop out onto unsuspecting victims. There's actually signs through Sydney warning people of the danger near trees. They are really aggressive too and have fangs the size of Weazels ego, ****en huge!

**** they can grow THAT big!?

I got be honest kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to another, seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything that's as dangerous as a night out in Newport.

 @ the drop bears Josh, forgot about them.

I remember seeing this years ago and I reckon Billy Connolly sums up our dangerous wildlife pretty well! Worth a watch.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
The guy who got eaten a couple of weeks back was my cousins best mate. Apparently they used to go diving where he was taken for Crayfish quite a bit.
Would of been rough on his brother pulling in half the body at the time and driving it back to the boat ramp. And they got some more of him back a week later I think. Washed up on a beach about 80km away. They had to postpone the funeral apparently, which would of made it all a bit worse. :(

The Abalone diver I knew through shelling. He was quite a big name in the game. Had a collection worth at least a couple of million $. He was a mad bastard though, in the sense that he would go diving at anytime, night or day. :? When you are in the water that much you are bound to come across sharks eventually. He had already had a couple of close encounters, as most Abalone divers do if they are in the game long enough, so I guess you can only roll the dice so much, before you're **** out of luck.

Both died doing what they loved doing though.

I would say you are seriously missing out on life in these are the sorts of things that stop you going to other countries though. I could understand not wanting to go anywhere where a war is taking place...but because of some spiders or a few sharks it wouldn't stop me given the chance.
**** happens guys. When your number is up, your number is up. We only get one chance at life.

I forgot to add one other dangerous creature that is known to frequent our waters.

If you ever see one....stay well the **** away

Sorry to hear about your cousin's mate Josh. You do seem to be getting a run of attacks in WA atm.

As far as the spiders etc here in Oz, you seem to just get used to them. I used to be **** scared of the pathetic house spiders in the UK, but now the spiders here don't really bother me. I guarantee if i looked around the outside of the house now i could find a redback...that's what thongs (flip flops) are for! I haven't even had a nightmare about the snakes here for a few years now.

Funny story...2 days after we arrived in Oz (12 years ago) we went to a party that the people were holding in their big garage. There was a ****ing huge huntsman (the size of a dinner plate) on the wall the whole time that nobody ever mentioned. I assumed something that ridiculously large was a rubber toy that they were trying to catch me out with so i kinda just ignored it too. Towards the end of the night i was sitting underneath it & noticed it move out of the corner of my eye. I must admit i screamed like a girl. I've never moved so fast!

Josh what happened to those guys you know was terrible bud. Id still be staying WELL clear of the water tho.

Tank if I see a Huntsman as big as a dinner plate it would be flatter than a piece of paper. I think Id favour a spade tho rather than a flip flip.

As for that big blue Morph like looking dude. Where is he these days. Iv not seen him post much. I think the last time I saw him post it was on RS. 8)
