I remember this Christmas very well as my Dad got me loads of Star Wars stuff from Walworths on Christmas Eve really cheap. You no Speader Bike for £1.49p and a load of mini rigs. But he also got me a giant multi pack of figures which I rememember well as it had loads of figures I still needed. I no for sure it had Luke Farmboy (no Saber), Greedo, Luke x-wing, R5-D4 and FX-7. Each figure was sealed in it's own part of a poly bag. Anyone else remember this or better still have one sealed?

i remember a couple of xmas's after and i got all my cousins star wars toys and figures, i literally didnt play with anything i got from my parents lol.

Ah xmas '86, I remember it well - I bought everything my local Woolworths had for pennies, mixed bags of figures, Walkers for £4.99, mini rigs for 49p

Actually no I've just remembered I didn't do any of the above because I was no longer interested in Star Wars and thought I was too old for the toys and spent my time chasing quines instead. When I think of the stuff I could have bought :(

Can remember xmas '84 though - B wing, TIE Interceptor, Forest Ranger last couple of figures

Check the B Wing cardboard inserts in the bin!!!!!!

They were the Woolworth's multi packs weren't they? I remember seeing them at the time (and not buying them sadly), but basically they were just multiple random baggies in one bag, in baskets at Woolworth's.

No pics to back it up I'm afraid but I'm sure there's an expert or two on here who can help :-)

Christmas 85 was my last SW Xmas.

Age was getting the better of me even then and I was obsessing over records and videos but my mum, who despite never seeing a SW film, had kept track of what I had and got a massive haul from Lewis's - much of it with reduced stickers on it.

Jedi Knight, is that a ROTJ Oral-B toothbrush i see in its box on the sofa?

I just remember thinking at the time what a cool set of figures. Most of them had the wrong weapon or no weapon. Cardboard inserts in bin isn't good. Love the LP tho   I also remember going into the local toy shop not long after and asking when they were getting more Star Wars figures in. Only to be told that they wouldn't be :| Still one of the worst days of my life, was gutted. :(

Look at the cardboard inserts in the bin, absolute sacrilege!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I thought exactly the same thing.

Although I'm happily married with a smashing 3 year old Son and comfortable lifestyle, I am becoming a cynical old bastard. I'd love to go back and relive a Christmas or 2 from the 80's to regain some of my innocence.

And to stock pile some vintage to be rediscovered in 2014. :)

Ahh! - Elaine Paige 'I know him so well'. Classic :P

either 85 or 86 would have been my last SW Christmas. Not sure which but i do remember being given a Y-wing. By the end of the day all the bits for it were missing. Think the missile hung around for a while. God knows where it all went. Even the Y wing is gone now :(

Yep xmas '84 was my last SW Christmas well until about 5 years ago when I realised you never get too old for SW :D
Still have the Ranger and box but unfortunately the B Wing was sold for pennies a few years later - but as it's 30 years since my last SW xmas I'm getting a vintage B Wing this year so can't wait :D

Chipsteak - I think you are right about the toothbrush, never actually noticed it until you said!

xpack - I was 12 and though Elaine Paige was the sexiest thing on two legs!

Look what is on the unit just above the LP - dymo machine! I loved that thing, I had dymo labels stuck everywhere!

Just checked my ranger box and it was marked down (Santa forgot to take the price sticker off) but not all the way to 49p clearance

ZippyNL - the cushion on the sofa looks a bit like your avatar

Great pic Colin :D - is that zippy in the corner - he looks like he's spaced out!

In summer 86 I bought loads of stuff. 50p for last 17's  I displayed them all just like now. Sadly by Xmas 86 I was no longer collecting :(

But yes I remember all those goodies

And is that a Terry's Chocolate orange in front of the Zippy Cushion?

It looks like it Paul - a favourite in our house in the 80s  (by the packaging it looks to be the dark chocolate version) :?

Just had a hunt round the internet for a pic (quite hard to find) but yes it is the Dark Version and it did come in that packaging - I can sleep tonight

Even the sweets and chocolate came in better packages in the 1980's

I think I have my christmas 86 on DVD but I did not get any star wars, but a lot of Lego

Wow cool childhood pictures 8)
