CHEWIE help?

Can anyone give me some background to a figure i've just obtained, its a 3 and 3quarter inch Chewie, but he doesnt bear the GMFGI stamp just LFL 1977..???

Glasslite has an unpainted pouch. Still a cool Chewie.

hi, i have 3 Stormtroopers the outside areboth 3 line coo's but have their nose grills painted, is this common?
the middle one has a wide stance and his mouth guard and markings are all bigger, he has a 2 line coo, is he a variant of some kind?

1. Chewie

Your Chewie is a late european variant. Its not clear where it originally appeared. Some say Meccano (french Trilogo), some say Palitoy or Macau ...???? Its definatley one of the rarer coos and very tough to find in mint condition.
The glasslite pendant has an unpainted pouch and is made of a lighter brown material.

2. You are describing "rocket" mouth and "wide" mouth variants. There is also a small or thin mouth variant. As far as I remember most 3-line and all china marked ones have the rocket mouth, The 2-liners can have mostly wide or thin mouth paint apps. All of them are equally common if you ask me.

(Lili Ledy i.e. has wide mouth whilst PBP has thin mouth. Both of these are no coo figures )

i meant the black shading between below the eyes above the mouth piece, like a moustache.

That's painted on kiser, no stormtrooper had the "nose" painted from the factory.

Thats interesting - I noticed that one of my beater stormies had that black shading as well - are you sure it is not factory painted ?

Well, I can't be exactly sure, but all the ones I've seen before has been advertised as custom painted, to resemble the look from the movies.
If I'm not right, then there should be some still carded(considering how many the factories pumped out for the market), but never seen one. :?:

well i bought a job lot inc 9 troopers, only 2 had tash's, so the questions beg, 1. why havent they all been coloured in, 2, thats one hell of a steady handed kid, cos theres not an ink mark either side of the grill.. do agree there should be some carded versions if its factory paint.
