I'm totally opposite. CIV was my first as well and I was not impressed at all. Don't get me wrong, if it was here in LA again I would probably go and I hope whoever goes has a great time.shawn_k said:As of right now I'm planning on going. CIV was my first Celebration and I am hooked after that.
I don't mean to make it seemed like it sucked. It was just OK as far as the "stuff" goes. I think most people are more jazzed about hooking up with fellow collector's and the after show get togethers. I'm sure that's a freakin blast! I typically keep to myself so I only went for the stuff and what I saw was either unrealistically overpriced or common everyday items.Joe said:Wow first bad comment I have heard on the boards actually Bryan!
I watched Shawns short video he made of his trip and it looked pretty awesome to me!
Granted I wasn't there so I can't disagree or agree but it looked pretty spectacular!
Did you meet up with many RS guys there?

I guess my thing is I have to go where people are unaware of what they have in order to secure the great deals. If I go to a Star Wars only show, most likely people know what they have so not only is the hunt futile, i'm going to pay top dollar for anything there. I can do that on eBay...![]()
I'm all about the stuff! 8)

The after hours "sales" on Friday or Saturday will be the best. A lot of rare ass **** comes out for sale. Hardcopies, firstshots, proof, etc are up.

I know what you mean about the overpriced stuff at cons..
I don't buy things at those places either   All about the atmosphere and mates!
That's awesome. I myself am involved in a form of (job-related) "seasonal pop-culture" that requires me to represent about 3-4 times a year in multiple states. I can tell you some of the best times of my life have been the after hours parties and get togethers that get so crazy at times that the memories will stay with me forever! Ever hear the one about the Bar waitress with no panties who made sure everyone knew it and who eventually socked our buddy in the face because he... well nevermind... I gotcha man!JohnA said:Jedi534, the sad part is if you did the community thing you'd have seen the hotel sales at our hotel. We had an entire bar area to sell, dubbed the "Cantina sales", and we had a blast. Tons of rare stuff and all fair prices. I made about $800 in sales and spent $4,000. LOL
