I had lost interest in even watching it on YouTube (just from disappointment of being so close to being there, not because I've become bitter or anything :p) but I turned the live stream on without thinking and was there was that Anthony Cabimino guy for the Star Wars show.

I had completely forgotten about that group of fake cheer and chippy presenters - they would drive me mad if I was there walking about.

Can they be heard all over the venue?

I'm disappointed by the movie news - although the Mangold film could be great if the costumes, ships and other designs look very different to what we see in the OT and PT eras (the KOTR designs are the same as the the two movie ears) - Filoni's crossover event should be on on Disney+ and be a series, I can't see a movie be able to give any of the characters the screen time they deserve - and a Rey movie ? Dear God, I thought the Sequel Trilogy was behind us. And it being the story that Luke Skywalker should have had is a kick in the head.

None of the characters created for the ST were interesting, let alone be worthy of a film of if their own. The only positive thought I had after reading this news was at least it isn't Poe and Finn. I hope I haven't jinxed that though - hopefully Boyega is still bitter (not suggesting he deserved the racist abuse, hope he is bitter about the arc he got) and hopefully Issac doesn't need a new house.

I'm excited by this film news. 3 very different directions to take and a fresh start. Hope they bring Finn and Poe back. Let's see if they actually get made though, as Rogue Squadron hit the buffers quite quickly.

Hopefully the Mangold one makes it all the way.

I wonder if the Disney+ series crossover event was was shifted to a movie because of al the cost cutting streaming services are apparently doing.

I don't like that Rise of the First Order era on the timeline. Really thought Lucasfilm was going to back in time more and not beyond Mandolorian etc

I was a bit disappointed today to be honest. It was very different to previous Celebrations for me as I took my son for the first time, so I couldn't watch any of the collecting track panels, chat to other collectors or look for things to buy for myself. I was impressed by how quickly we got in considering the size of the queue (photo below!) which took just under an hour. But I was shocked by how busy it was inside, they should only have let half as many people in. He enjoyed it which is the main thing.

My first one was like this- took my nephew, who was 6 or 7 at the time. Didn't get to do or see a huge amount for myself, but we still had a great time.

To be honest the bar was very high - I went to the previous two CE events. The 2007 one was pre-Disney so it was half as busy, everything was about the OT and prequels, and vintage toys were cheap(er) back then so I picked up loads of stuff for my collection. I went for all 4 days, for free because back then I got a complimentary press pass for running this forum! It was the first time I met any other collectors. It was all round amazing.

Then the 2016 one had a huge buzz about it because of the new films, and I didn't have any kids then so could stay for the evening drinks and room sales etc.

So of course this one was going to be worse in comparison to those. As a stand alone day out, it was fun :) I just wish it wasn't so busy as we couldn't really get near any of the stalls, and my son was disappointed that we couldn't go in the Lego shop as the queue was just too big.

I was very lucky and able to get in early at 8am so got to have a walk around and see everything before they opened the doors, managed to see a couple of collector tracks which was great Really enjoyed them! I didn't enjoy how packed it got apparently there was 35000 people attended ! I left around 3pm due to being too busy to really see anything, on a whole I had a good day but i agree with what Ed said above I enjoyed the first celebration London way more.

35000 and it wasn't even sold out? How many people are expected today and tomorrow?

How were you able to get inside that early?

And what are collector tracks? They've been mentioned a few times in the thread. I've never been into the collecting side of it except for the action figures and those were for playing with.

I didn't know until scanning this thread that ordinary Joe soaps like myself go to Celebration to sell their own stuff. I thought all the stalls were for Hasbro, LEGO, etc

I mean you can sell your own stuff but at something like a grand a day you'd need a lot to shift.
The collecting track is basically fan led panels talking about different aspects of collecting. Download the celebration app for the schedule, they're one of the best things
