Can i just ask your opinion on repro items?

I think lightsabers and vinyl capes are very hard to ID sometimes if they are repro or not

Tell me about it mate, the only items I have in my collection with question marks on them are two cloaks and a couple of sabres... The trouble is I don't have any left from my childhood collection so not much to compare them to...

Maybe at FF3 we could bring what we are not sure about and get more knowledgeable opinions, I am good at spotting most weapons and hand held sabres, the telescoping sabres and some of the cloaks have left me stumped though (some can be spotted a mile away but others are either very close or my paranoia is taking over  ).

Capes we can listen after if they make the zip sound but some original capes does not make the sound. That is very tricky.
Some original sabers does not glow under black light and they are still orignal, very tricky again. I also try to get some capes and sabers from childhood collections but all the sabers I have found in childhood collections and capes do glow and make zip sound. I hate those repro sabers and capes

Yep - Im put off going for a vinyl cape jawa due to the repro cape business  - very hard to tell, esp if you are not very experienced.

You guys could set up a stall verifying weapons etc! You could have a bin like an amnesty next to the stall for disappointed people to throw their repro in. Genius :p

Custom Repro's that are seen readily on ebay I don't have a problem with - they are in no way trying to replicate an original vintage figure or cardback, I don't have any personally but understand people like to collect one or two of these as a fun factor to their collection.

Repro's of original vintage MOC's

Even if your budget is tight you can get a reseal or a battered moc, surely that is more satisfying to genuine collector than a fake :?

Yes indeed my friend! I only mess with legit items, don't like to get fake items. I want only original in my collection. If I can't find an item I need I'm going to keep waiting till it comes around and if it doesn't then it doesn't. Or I would settle for a good or beat example until it comes around. The fun is in the hunt and when you finally get that piece you have been looking for. Oooooh it's like getting some P***Y lmao

Repros suck & are for posers!
