Hi all,

This is probably a really simple thing to do but I need to take a screen grab on my mac desktop of a bank statement and block any off the sensitive information that I don't want the person I'm sending it to to see.

I've seen this done many times on this forum by other members and hoped someone might be able to let me know how to do this simply?

Thanks in advance,

Ian

Hi Ian,

I've never owned a mac, but I believe you need to press Shift-Command-4. Drag to select the area of the screen to capture. To move the entire selection, press and hold Space bar while dragging. After you release your mouse or trackpad button, find the screenshot on your desktop.

If you then have an image editing program similar to Microsoft Paint, you should then be able to swipe over the top of whatever you don't want to be seen and save the amended image.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks for the advise Jeremy, I'll give it a go to see if I can get it to work although I'm not sure if I have Microsoft paint or something similar so I'll see if there's a free tool out there for a mac that might work.

Thanks again! :D

The tool on a mac is either "grab" or "screenshot" depending on how up to date your OS is.

If you just click on the PNG you should be able to edit it as above

That seems simple enough so thank you for that, I'll try it later on :)
